Steve Irwin's legacy is living on in Hollywood.

The late "Crocodile Hunter" received a star on the famed Hollywood Walk of Fame and Irwin's family — Terri Irwin, Bindi Irwin, and Robert Irwin — were at the ceremony Thursday in Los Angeles to accept the star on his behalf.

Irwin's star is the 2,635th on the Walk of Fame.

Obviously, it wouldn't feel right to honor the animal advocate and conservationist without something furry or scaley or crawly so a giant snake was in attendance as well.

Bindi Irwin, 19, who has followed in her father's footsteps working to protect wildlife, teared up while speaking at the ceremony.

The Mega Agency"I’m going to get a little bit emotional because it’s such a special day,” Bindi said. “I have to tell you that I, never in my wildest dreams, imagined that this would become a reality, and this is such an honor as a family to continue on in dad’s footsteps."

Steve Irwin died in 2006 at the age of just 44 when a stingray barb accidentally stabbed him in the heart while he was filming a documentary.
