Britney Spears
Britney Spears is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress. She is known as the “Princess of Pop” and is credited for reviving teen pop in the late 1990s and early 2000s. She is one of the world’s best-selling musical artists with over 70 million records sold in the United States alone.
Britney Spears Has Released One Successful Album After Another
Britney was born in McComb, Mississippi, on December 2, 1981. She began singing and dancing at a young age. At age eight, she auditioned for the television show “The All New Mickey Mouse Club.” Although she was rejected from the show, she was encouraged to get an agent in New York City. She then began spending her summers in New York, attending the Professional Performing Arts School.
In 1997, Spears signed with Jive Records. Her debut album, “...Baby One More Time,” was released in 1999. It quickly became a worldwide phenomenon. The album's title track was a number-one single in over 20 countries, and it remains one of the best-selling singles of all time. Her follow-up album, “Oops!... I Did It Again,” was released in 2000. It was even more successful than her debut album.
She continued to release successful albums. In 2001, she released “Britney,” which was followed by 2003’s “Zone” and 2007’s “Blackout.” She also starred in several films, including 2002’s “Crossroads,” and 2008’s “Princess of the Country.”
Britney Spears Was In A Conservatorship From February 2008 To November 2021
Unfortunately, she suffered a public breakdown, which led her to be placed under a conservatorship largely controlled by her father, Jamie Spears. The conservatorship lasted from February 2008 to November 2021, when it was struck down by a judge. Her father had a large amount of control over her personal and financial affairs until that time.
She has been vocal on Instagram about the alleged abuse that she has suffered during her conservatorship. She is also estranged from her many family members, including her mother, Lynne Spears, and her sister, Jamie-Lynn Spears, as a result of the conservatorship. No family members were invited to her June 2022 wedding to Sam Asghari.
Britney Spears Was Married Three Times
In January 2004, Britney married her childhood friend Jason Allen Alexander at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada. The marriage was annulled 55 hours later.
In July 2004, she became engaged to dancer Kevin Federline, who she met three months earlier. They held a wedding ceremony in September 2004 but were not married until October 2004 due to delays in finalizing the prenuptial agreement. In 2006, Britney filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. It was settled in July 2007, at which time the couple agreed to share joint custody of their sons: Sean Preston and Jayden James.
In 2016, Britney started dating Iranian actor Sam Asghari after meeting him on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video. In September 2021, the couple became engaged. The couple married on June 9 at her Thousand Oaks estate in Los Angeles. Her first husband, Jason Alexander, attempted to crash the wedding but was arrested.
