Sam Asghari Attended Hollywood Bash During Britney Spears' Knife Dancing Welfare Check

Actor Sam Asghari was apparently out and about at Hollywood parties while Britney Spears was at home on Wednesday night.

Local law enforcement officials showed up at her door in order to perform a welfare check on the pop star, who posted two videos of her dancing with knives earlier this week. In the first Instagram video, the "Gimme More" singer danced with knives while insisting they were fake. In the second Instagram video, posted on Tuesday, Britney was seen dancing with a bandage on her arm, a cut on her leg, and a bruise on her lower back.

However, police determined that she was alive and well during a welfare check conducted on Wednesday night. While local law enforcement was showing up at her door, Sam Asghari, who filed for divorce on August 16, was apparently living it up at a Hollywood party.

While local law enforcement was making sure that Britney Spears did not actually hurt herself during her viral knife dancing video, the "Special Ops: Lioness" actor was living it up in L.A. On Thursday, sources told The Sun that the 29-year-old actor was spotted at the COSF Zodiac Ball Night Before Dinner at Boa Steakhouse in West Hollywood with his manager, Brandon Cohen, and friends.

The star-studded affair contained several notable names, including Mohamed Hadid and his girlfriend Keni Silva. The event, which was sponsored by Balmain Paris, was held ahead of the ball at the Houdi Estate in Beverly Hills. Eyewitnesses on sight told the outlet that Sam tried to remain low-key about his appearance at the event.

"Sam didn't want a big fuss about his attendance, and he seemed a little nervous about the crowd because there were obviously quite a few eyes on him," an insider claimed. "Many of the high-profile guests were happy to pose for photographs in the entryway, but Sam dodged the cameras and just spent time mingling with Brandon."

"He was mostly with a crowd of guys and didn't seem to pay much attention to the flow of beautiful models and influencers filling up the venue," they continued. "After arriving early and enjoying the buzzy atmosphere at the cocktail reception, he snuck out before the main sitdown dinner and headed to the valet."

Although one source told The Sun that Sam wasn't doing much mingling at the party, another insider told Page Six the exact opposite.

Their insider said that the actor was “mingling with women” at Wednesday’s VIP Night Before Dinner ahead of the Zodiac Ball to benefit the Children’s Oncology Support Fund.

A witness claimed that Sam "seemed flirty" at the Hollywood bash, adding, “He was very social, on the prowl.”

They said that the event was “dominated by female donors” and full of “very wealthy women” who attended the event from all over the country. Some of the philanthropists were reported to spend as much as $20,000 for a table at the star-studded gala.

"It was a feeding frenzy for a single guy,” the source shared, saying that many women at the party praised the actor as "so great" and "so amazing."

Another insider told Page Six that Britney's younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, was supposed to be at the event, but decided not to attend when she heard that Sam Asghari was going to be in attendance.

The “Dancing with the Stars” contestant was reportedly trying to avoid a "media frenzy," as a source explained that paparazzi “have been stalking Sam’s every move” since news of the divorce broke in mid-August.

That being said, their insider did agree that Sam did not want any photos of himself taken at the event.

Amid his divorce from the Princess of Pop, Sam Asghari is reportedly looking for his acting career to take off. One insider told The Sun that Sam is "keen to get out into the Hollywood scene" and help make the right connections to help boost his acting career. However, they noted that he doesn't want to put himself out there "too much" amid his divorce from the pop star.

Sources indicated that his career and his family are his main priorities at the moment, as his mother was involved in a "major" car accident at the end of July that caused her to spend time in the emergency room. Now that the SAG-AFTRA strike is coming to a close, however, Sam is planning to get back into acting and maybe hosting.

On August 28, a source told TMZ that the Iranian actor is interested in character-driven roles and maybe even hosting. Although he had been working as a personal trainer at L.A.'s Royal Personal Training when he first met Britney on the set of her "Slumber Party" music video in 2016, sources say that the actor has "no plans to get back into the personal training game" after recently starring in "Special Ops: Lioness."

Although the 29-year-old actor filed for divorce from the 41-year-old pop star on August 16, according to court documents obtained by The Blast, he listed the date of separation as July 28, 2023. He cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split, although sources told The Sun that Britney's "erratic" behavior was a large reason for the split.

"She has been acting increasingly erratic and is in a vulnerable state. Sam was bearing the brunt and it proved too much," they claimed, adding, "It's all plunged to a new low and is sad to see." A second insider claimed that Britney is always "very volatile, always ranting and shouting at the staff over minor things and making ridiculous demands."

They went on to claim that there is "smashed glass all over the house because Britney will just throw things" and asserted that "She has a weird obsession with knives. She has been throwing them at the walls and hiding them down the sofa."

On Wednesday night, the Ventura County Sheriff's Department performed a welfare check on the pop star out of an abundance of caution, according to TMZ. Sources say that Britney was home at the time and police were able to speak to her and determine that she was alive and well.

On Thursday night, Britney posted a short statement to her Instagram page assuring her followers that the knives were fake and insisting that they did not need to call the police on her again.

"I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA. These are not real knives," she wrote in the caption of another Instagram post.

"No one needs to worry or call the police. I’m trying to imitate one of my favorite performers Shakira … a performance I was inspired by !!!" she continued, referring to Shakira's 2023 MTV Video Music Awards performance that aired on September 12. "Cheers to us bad girls who aren’t afraid to push boundaries and take risks ??????!"

This isn’t the first time that Britney has insisted that she was just trying to imitate Shakira’s performance. Two days ago, in another Instagram video that featured her dancing without the knives, Britney wrote, “ Lighten up about the knives I’m copying Shakira ? !!!”
