Corn Kid Gets A Slimy Invitation For An Exciting Event!

Tariq, otherwise known as Corn Kid to the Internet, got a very exciting invitation in the mail recently. He shared his reaction to opening the mystery package on his TikTok page captioned, "I got a surprise in the mail today ?."

Tariq opened the surprise package and read the note inside so his followers could follow along with his exciting moment. As the corn loving 7-year-old opened the box, he said, "It looks like it's from Nickelodeon."

"It's saying, 'Your wildest dreams have come true. Open the can and reach in for the slime of your life,'" he said. He then stuck his hand into the can of green slime and pulled out an invitation for the 2023 Kids' Choice Awards as he screamed in excitement.

"You're invited to the 2023 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, Saturday, March 4," he said enthusiastically. "Thanks, Kids' Choice Awards."

Many of his TikTok followers were excited to hear about his impressive invite and took to the comments to cheer him on. "You deserve it and they better give you a prize," one person wrote. Another added, "Congrats ? I hope you have sooo much fun!! ?"

One follower said they would watch just for Tariq. "I haven't watched the Kids Choice Awards in years sister, but I will tune in just for you. Congratulations little man!" Another agreed and wrote, "Alright I will watch it now it’s been years though."

In a follow up video, Tariq is seen enjoying the green slime that the invitation was delivered in. As he stuck his whole hand into the bucket of slime he said, "It's cold. Come on, I'm a big boy. I'm brave."

After sticking his hand into the bucket and pulling out lots of green slime, he said, "Oh, that's a lot. It looks likes I'm gonna turn into a slime monster. Cool."

"Every 90s kids dream was to be slimed. I'm 35 now and I'd still love for it to happen," one of Tariq's followers wrote in the comments. Others just dropped a "congrats" into the comments to cheer on their favorite corn-loving TikToker.

What started out as a simple interview with "Recess Therapy" on a New York City playground last summer, has turned into a wild adventure for Tariq. His love of corn took him to great places in the past few months.

He made more than one appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show," collaborated with MrBeast a few times, visited American Dream, became the "Corn-bassador" of South Dakota, rode on a float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and was interviewed by Kenan Thompson and Kevin Hart.

And now, he will get to add the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards to that impressive list.

The 2023 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards will air on Saturday, March 6 at 7 p.m. ET. The show will be hosted by Nate Burleson and Charli D'Amelio. Online voting is currently taking place on their website.
