'Corn Kid' Made TikTok's Most Viewed Videos Of 2022 List!

Viral sensation "Corn Kid" is still going strong! After one simple interview with Recess Therapy went viral over the summer, things took off for 7-year-old Tariq, and now months later, he's on TikTok list of Most Viewed Videos of 2022.

With 84.8 million views, it's no wonder why TikToker @schmoyoho's video of the "Corn Song" made the list of most viewed videos of the year. "It's Corn" also made the Around the World's "Only on TikTok" list.

The video, which shows Tariq's original interview with Recess Therapy on one side and schmoyoho on the other side playing keyboard, started an earworm in many TikTok viewers heads. The "Corn Song" quickly grew in popularity and was being used in tons of videos on the platform. Avid TikTokers could barely go a full day without hearing the song in a video on the "For You" page for months. And still today, it's not too hard to find while scrolling.

After the song hit the Internet and its popularity kept growing, it became streamable. Schmoyoho pinned a comment on the highly viewed video saying, "Pinning that this song is streaming (“it’s corn”) and for anyone not familiar with our channel & schmo ways, royalties split with the singer."

The video received more than 75,000 comments filled with positive messages. "Not me buying corn at the store tonight solely because this song has been running through my head all day," one person wrote. "If this isn’t the most viral sound in TikTok history within the month then I am going to be disappointed. Purely wholesome, it’s fantastic… it’s… 🌽," said another follower.

The top 10 list of most viewed "fyfaves" videos in the United States includes creating a chocolate giraffe, a chipmunk filling his cheeks, the little girl saying, "I'm just a baby" to her mom, Lizzo teaching everyone how to properly do the "About Damn Time" dance, and a few other favorites.

In the "TikTok Taught Me" section, Brunch with Babs made the list for teaching us how to easily carve a pumpkin. Cooking with Lynja also made the list for teaching us how to make three different types of grilled cheese.

On the playlist list, the top ten songs that lived in our heads rent free includes, "Sunroof" by Nicky Youre & dazy, "About Damn Time" by Lizzo, "Just a Cloud Away" by Pharrell Williams, "Jiggle Jiggle" by Duke & Jones & Louis Theroux, "BILLIE EILISH" by Armani White, "Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)" by Kate Bush and a few others.

In the "Breakthrough Stars" category, Drew Barrymore, Ophelia Nichols, also known as "Mama Tot," Reece Feldman, and ex-NBA player Richard Jefferson made the United States list. The Around the World list includes Bad Bunny, Dylan Mulvaney, Japanese Chef Bayashi and others.
