Corn Kid's Journey Took Him To Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade!

After teaming up with Green Giant to help donate 50,000 cans of his favorite vegetable at City Harvest in Brooklyn, New York, Tariq, otherwise known to the Internet as "Corn Kid," got the chance to ride on the Jolly Green Giant's float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

From one quick interview on the playground with Recess Therapy to being named "Corn-Bassador" of South Dakota to the streets of Manhattan during the iconic annual Thanksgiving Day parade, "Corn Kid's" journey has taken him to many places.

Leading up to the big parade, the 7-year-old New York resident got the chance to help with the weather report on the "Today Show." In what could possibly be the cutest weather report ever, Tariq tells viewers what to expect in their neck of the woods.

"We're gonna have some sunny weather and Santa winds," he began his report. "And a lot of snow in Rookies." He's then helped out a bit so there's no confusion, "In the Rockies, right in the mountains," we hear in the background. He then continues his weather report by saying, "And some mild weather in Midwest."

When asked what the weather will be like for the parade, he responds, "Well, it will be sunny for the parade. And also we will be having some parade characters that may look familiar from some shows."  After he names off a few of the balloons that will be present for the parade, he is asked if he will be at the parade too, to which he responds, "Green Giant!"

The day before the parade, "Today Show" shared a clip of "Corn Kid" getting ready for the big day on TikTok. When asked what he's most looking forward to at the parade, he responds, "drums." He then screams, "Strike up the band" and gets the chance to play some drums on camera with one of the marching bands in the parade.

Many of Tariq's fans and followers were excited about his parade debut. Shark Tank's Barbara Corcoran wrote in the comments of the TikTok clip, "He is 2022 ❤️?"

One follower said, "He has the biggest personality ?," to which the "Today Show" didn't miss a beat and responded, "We can’t imagine a more beautiful thing!" Another fan explained, "He really saved us this yr ?"

Tariq's parents, who run his TikTok account, reposted a video clip of Tariq on the float during the parade captioned, "Thank you so much to Green Giant for this Thanksgiving experience? Thank you to @m_steezy for capturing this video on me on the float." Many of his fans left comments about how happy they are for him and his success thanks to his love of corn. "Man you make my day so much better lil guy," one follower wrote.

New TikTok account, Green Giant Official, recently shared four videos featuring Tariq. One video is a montage of adorable snaps of the "Corn Kid" cooking and eating his favorite veggie. Words over the video read, "When you come out of retirement because you love corn."
