Harry Styles Cinching 'Album Of The Year' Grammy Angers Beyoncé Fans

Harry Styles won big time, cinching the 2023 Grammy Award for album of the year for "Harry's House." And yet, the world is not happy. From calling his Grammy performance a tad forced, to taking offense at his "white man" acceptance speech, social media is calling Harry Styles out.
But the worst of his offense, fans claim, was "robbing" the award from Beyoncé!
Harry Styles' Acceptance Speech Goes Down Wrong
29-year-old Harry Styles beat down some biggies to cinch the Grammy, with fellow nominees being rather stellar in their own right, including "Voyage" by ABBA, "30" by Adele, "Un Verano Sin Ti" by Bad Bunny, "Renaissance" by Beyoncé, "Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe)" by Mary J. Blige, "In These Silent Days" by Brandi Carlile, "Music of the Spheres" by Coldplay, "Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers" by Kendrick Lamar, and "Special" by Lizzo.
In his acceptance speech for the award, after it was announced by Trevor Noah, Harry Styles expressed that he doesn't go into the studio thinking about whether he will win awards and added that "there's no such thing as best." He passed on the mike to producers post this.
But it's the beginning of his speech that has irked many, as he said, "This doesn't happen to people like me very often. This is so so nice, thank you."
The remark has not gone down well with many on Twitter commenting:
"I’m trying to understand what that white boy meant by 'this doesn’t happen for people like me.' ????"
"This doesn’t happen to people like me often,” possibly an even more severe case of foot in mouth than anything Harry Styles said on the DON’T WORRY DARLING press tour."
Harry Styles saying this doesn't happen often to people like me in place where Benito might have become the Puerto Rican to win that album and Beyonce the 1st black women since 1999 is WILD. I need him to explain what identity he was using for that speech cause... pic.twitter.com/33DAXiKOgO

Beyoncé Fans Are Hopping Mad At Harry Styles
Despite having a record-breaking win with her 32nd grammy, the ‘Renaissance’ singer missed the Album of the Year award for the fourth time. In 2017, it was Adele who got the Grammy for her album "25" and mentioned in her acceptance speech that Beyoncé was far more deserving.
And now, despite having the most number of Grammys under her belt, fans feel Queeny Bey is being cheated of major Grammys.
Listen, Grammy voters keep playing with Beyoncé. Year after year. Album after album. Outside of 2010 when she won song, never wins any of the major categories. Has the most wins ever, but go check out in what categories… It’s really something. pic.twitter.com/774KtN7ZQ7

Harold’s House is technically well-produced but ultimately not even a fraction of the merit in the the composition and execution of Renaissance—an explosion of ebullient joy, artistic and emotional freedom, and queer happiness. Beyoncé done dirty by this LAME ASS show AGAIN pic.twitter.com/LXc54056Xq

Liam Payne is all praise for Harry Styles though:

The Internet Feels The Grammys Are Scammys
The nominations for Harry Styles included best pop vocal album for "Harry's House," (which he won) as well as record of the year, song of the year, best pop solo performance, and best music video for "As It Was."
For many, Harry Styles' win seemed less of a talent due to and more of the Recording Academy’s tendency to do what it always does by letting white people win over Hispanic or Black artists. Sadly, the Recording Academy’s membership itself is only 31% women and 33% from "traditionally underrepresented communities."
It would have been the first Spanish-language album to win had Bad Bunny cinched the award, and had Beyoncé won it, she would have been the first Black woman to have done so, since 1999.
This is how Harry Styles is celebrating his win on social media though.
