Coldplay has previously revealed that they almost canceled the "Music Of The Spheres" world tour while it was still in its planning stage. Martin spoke to ColdplayXtra and revealed that they encountered a "big financial crisis" which threatened the band and their plans for the first time ever.

He said, "It became financially stressful, which we hadn't had before. We never really had a big financial crisis. This was the first time where there was a point where we felt like we couldn't do the tour due to all the money stuff. But luckily, we had some help, and they saved the day. Yeah we did a few changes here and there.

Martin concluded, "The whole point of this tour is to be trying new things, and some of them work, and some of them don't and that's okay. We are so lucky that we can survive certain losses, and it's OK."
