Liam Payne Defends Girlfriend Against Troll Who Accuses Her Of Being Gold Digger

English singer and songwriter Liam Payne has hit back at an online troll who told him his new flame, Kate Cassidy, was just with him for his money.

The former One Direction member was not having it with the fan as he posted a screenshot of the message to his Instagram social to address the comments, adding that he has "never felt a love like it."

Payne has been in high-profile relationships in the past. He shares his son, Bear, with his ex-girlfriend, Cheryl Cole, and was previously engaged to the American model Maya Henry.

The singer recently went Instagram-official about his relationship with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, and the couple has been spotted several times in public together, but not everyone is convinced about their love.

According to reports by the Daily Mail, a fan sent a DM to the "Live Forever" crooner accusing Cassidy of being a gold digger and warning Payne to be wary of her.

The couple was recently spotted on the red carpet of the British Fashion Awards. Fan reactions to the pair going IG official were mixed, as some took the opportunity to point out their dislike for Cassidy while others showed tremendous support for Payne and his new girlfriend.

The former One Direction star slammed the troll's comment about his girlfriend, Cassidy, dating him for only financial reasons by taking a screenshot of the DM and uploading it to his Instagram stories.

"Gotta say you could tell me anything and I couldn't be turned, I've never felt a love like I do for Katelyn. We make each other better people," he captioned the post per Daily Mail.

He went on to defend her against the gold-digger label, saying, "If it was just for the money I'd give her all of it. It's not though (please remember I'm hella sexy) and I know I'm fun and a loveable person."

Payne concluded, "I don't give a f**k to say that for the first time in my life I'm happy to be me and that's priceless."

The singer's relationship with Cassidy seems to be waxing stronger with each passing day, as they were seen sharing a smooch at a Christmas party.

According to Daily Mail, Payne, dressed in a plain white t-shirt, and Cassidy, donning a high-neck black bodysuit and satin bottom half, danced at the festival before sharing a kiss.

In the video, Payne could be seen gazing into the camera while being watched indiscreetly by onlookers. He then hilariously gave his friend, who was filming them, the middle finger before continuing to snuggle up with his girlfriend. The pair looked very in love and full of Christmas cheer at the same time.

Ever since the couple went public on their relationship, the different reaction from fans has continued to trail what they have together, with some not in favor of the relationship.

A fan wrote, "I was gonna like it but then I saw the second slide. I stopped myself," referring to Payne and Cassidy's Instagram photo on the British fashion award's red carpet. Another added, "go away... No one cares."

A particular fan pretending not to acknowledge the photo in which they appeared said, "second slide? WTF are y'all talking about? There's only one slide."

Many fans went on to express how much they've missed the pop star and how grateful they are to have him back. "Love to see you again, welcome back. We miss you," a fan noted.
