“Euphoria” is an American drama TV series based on a TV miniseries of the same name. The teen drama series was created and co-produced by Sam Levinson. The story is about a group of high-school teens who go through different experiences.
The HBO series stars the “Malcolm & Marie” star, Zendaya Coleman, and a couple of other movie stars like Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, Storm Reid, Eric Dane, Sydney Sweeney, and many others.

The series has become a phenomenon ever since it premiered on June 16, 2019. The latest season premiered on January 9, 2022, and viewers are happy to have the series back on their big screens.
Sweeney is one of the breakout stars who received much attention from viewers due to a role in the blockbuster series. In the movie, she played Cassie Howard, a character that thirsts for romantic love. Her nudes got leaked at some point, and fans didn’t take it lightly.
Sweeney Addressed Her Nude Appearances
Although it has been a rocky journey, Sweeney’s character, Cassie, longs for romantic love. So far from the debut season, viewers have watched Cassie repeatedly being harassed by boyfriends whom she thought loved her.
Her rough romance life caused her nudes to be leaked and caused a dent in her reputation as viewers called her a slut. However, due to the nature of her character in the series, she was required to do sex scenes and display nudity.
In an interview with Independent, the American actress addressed the issue and said that she felt a bit safe fighting for herself regarding the nudity that the role she played required. She also credited the series’ writer and director.
She said Levinson is an amazing person and a very good listener regardless of the status of the person he is dealing with. There were times when her character was supposed to be shirtless, and she would ask him to permit her to remain covered.
She has never felt Levinson trying to force her to go naked in any scene aired on HBO; if she didn’t want it, he didn’t force her. On the other hand, she can’t turn down every scene, prompting her to go naked because she went through the script before taking the role.
Movie Critics Felt Her Nude Scenes Were Unnecessary
Although Sweeney seemed very comfortable with the nude scenes, movie critics and fans still spotted some red flags in the whole thing. There are enough nude scenes in “Euphoria,” but Cassie appears more naked than the rest.
Also, according to the script, Cassie was potentially going to appear in more nude scenes, which contributed to fans’ perception of it. Sweeney, in real life, is older than her character in the series.

The character is a high-school student who is in her teenage years. So it does not sit right with people who feel that a movie should not display much nudity for young characters.
On Twitter, someone shared that the show is about minors which makes the nudity weird. On the “Oh No They Didn’t” blog site, fans compared the series to other teen dramas in a bid to call out the inappropriate nudity.
Other Teen Dramas That Don’t Promote Nudity
A fan of the series wrote that Sweeney is a grown-up who knows what’s best for herself regarding her body, so it’s not anybody’s business, as long as she finds it positive. The user believed that she is old enough to have her feelings about nude scenes.
Another user claimed that “Euphoria” is about teenagers, and the scenes should show something relatable to the cast. The user felt that there should be minimal or no nude scenes at all. The user also compared it with other series, which didn’t show all of that.
Some other people felt that the nudity was above the line, just in the case of Cassie alone. They feel hers was beyond the normalcy in comparison with other cast members. A user even said that she has been literally naked since the first episode.
Fans were Displeased By One Of Cassie’s Sex Scene in Season 2 Premiere
One of the reasons why people are raising complaints is because the season 2 premiere is still showing what irked them about season 1. People expressed concern when they noticed the nudity in Cassie and Nate’s hook-up.

In the scene, the camera was focused on Cassie’s breasts for a longer moment than she and Nate’s faces. It made a lot of people complain that Cassie is being exploited in the series repeatedly without even trying to hide it.
“Euphoria” fans questioned the camera placement during the hook-up, stating that the camera could have rotated around both parties but chose to focus on Cassie’s naked body. People are not happy with the production, and they are not keeping quiet about it.
