Sweeney’s performance in the third season of “Euphoria” garnered negative attention because of her character’s OnlyFans plot. The Blast shared that the entertainer donned multiple controversial outfits, including a viral baby attire.

While these scenes showcased Sweeney’s bold abilities as an actress, experts warned that she could become limited by sexualized roles. Crisis and reputation management expert Dave Quast explained that the public was more focused on Sweeney’s provocative scenes rather than her performance.

Quast noted that the public’s reception of her performance might pose a challenge to Sweeney’s future as an actress, as sexualized roles could become her entire brand. Besides her nude scenes in the HBO series, Sweeney also had explicit scenes in the movie “The Housemaid.”

Adult Stars Were Unimpressed By The Actress’s OnlyFans Narrative

Among Sweeney’s critics were OnlyFans stars Sydney Leathers and Maitland Ward, who bashed the show’s take on adult content creators. The Blast reported that the duo shut down the portrayal of OnlyFans creators in the series, arguing that Sweeney’s explicit scenes were far from the truth.

“There’s so much that they have her doing that is not even allowed on OnlyFans,” Leathers said. She slammed Sweeney’s baby dress-up scene, arguing that there were strict rules on the explicit platform to prevent such acts. Ward echoed similar sentiments, frustrated by the stereotypical narrative.

According to Ward, Sweeney’s scenes in the HBO show reinforced harmful stereotypes that portrayed sex workers as people with “no moral compass and that they will do anything for money.” She slammed producers for making a joke out of a harmful situation, stressing that Sweeney’s provocative scenes were not funny.

The conversation surrounding Sweeney’s performance in the third season of the drama series led to her previous comments about her father resurfacing. The Blast shared that  Sweeney had once addressed her family’s reactions to her performance in “Euphoria.”

At the time, Sweeney noted that her mom had been aware of her nudity on the show, even being on set while some scenes were shot. On the other hand, her father was unaware of what she did in the series and decided to watch it with his parents.

Sweeney recalled that her father and grandfather had turned off the show and walked out, while her grandmother didn’t mind and continued watching. Just as her dad and grandpa could not watch the earlier seasons, many found it hard to stomach Sweeney’s nudity in the third season.
