Sydney Sweeney has set tongues wagging again after her latest raunchy scene in the hit series, “Euphoria,” featured her baring it all on screen.
The scenes have also led internet sleuths to resurface her father’s past reaction to her sex scenes, after the actress revealed that he watched the show without telling her.
Since the release of the third season of “Euphoria,” Sydney Sweeney has sparked heated debate about her sexualized roles, with experts weighing in on the impact it could have on her career in the long run.
Sydney Sweeney’s Father Walked Out After Watching Her Sultry Scenes On ‘Euphoria’

Sweeney has some of the most explicit scenes on the series, “Euphoria,” and the latest episode from the third season seems to have topped all the previous ones as she appeared completely bare-chested.
This has led to her previous comments about her father seeing her raunchy scenes resurfacing due to his not-so-surprising reaction.
Despite the sexualized nature of her character, Cassie, Sweeney’s family has supported her on the show by watching it, with the actress’s mom even being present on set while some of the scenes were shot.
Sweeney’s dad, on the other hand, has never paid a visit to the set, but she once revealed that he, without her knowledge, decided to watch with her grandfather.
“When I talk to my dad, it’s usually not about work,” Sweeney told “Today” back in 2023. “We talk father-daughter conversations, so he decided he was going to watch [‘Euphoria’] without telling me, with his parents.”
When the interviewer asked how it went, she said, “My dad and my grandpa turned it off and walked out,” adding, “My grandma – she’s a big supporter of mine. She’s a big fan.”
The Actress’s Latest Sultry Scene Featured Richard Gere’s Nepo Baby Son (Spoiler)

Sweeney has not only sparked debate because of her raunchy display in the latest “Euphoria” episode, but also because of who her scene partner was.
In the seventh episode of the third season, her character, Cassie, sleeps with Richard Gere and Carey Lowell’s son, Homer Gere, who plays a movie star, Dylan Reid, on the series.
Cassie was encouraged by Maddy Perez (Alexa Dermie) to hook up with Dylan in order to be able to revive her following after she deleted her OnlyFans account.
After one date, the duo went back to Dylan’s home, where he and Cassie had a very intense sex scene that involved straddling and even caused the bed frame to break, with a painting getting knocked off the wall.
When they were through, Cassie sneaked a photo of her and Dylan with his phone, which she posted on his Instagram page alongside the caption, “World’s greatest f-ck @itsjustmecassie.”
The Latest Episode Marked A Major Milestone For Homer Gere
The sultry episode marks a milestone for Homer as his first major TV appearance in his acting career.
In a chat with Entertainment Tonight during the season three premiere of the series in April, Homer shared the “great advice” he received from his A-list star dad, Richard.
“It’s not necessarily related to like the craft, but more like, ‘How do you carry yourself? How do you make this work in a positive way?” Homer said.
He has also received praise online for his “regular body” on the show, with many branding him a “real man.”
“When people finally wake up and realize this looks hotter than having abs,” a person noted, while another said, “This is a real man, everyone, y’all need to stop thinking every man is gonna have the p-rn body.”
Sydney Sweeney’s Latest Scene Sparked Debate Over Her Character

Like most of what her character has done this season, Sweeney’s latest bare-chested scene caused drama online, with several calling out the showrunners for oversexualizing her role.
“At this point, can we all agree that HBO is using Sydney Sweeney’s body as a marketing strategy?” a person on X asked.
Another said, “Every episode of Euphoria is basically testing the boundaries of common sense!!”
A third person noted, “Ugh, this is so tired already. Sydney’s got talent, but they keep throwing her t-ts out there like that’s all she’s worth?”
Sydney Sweeney’s Sultry Roles Have Raised Concerns About Her Hollywood Career

Amid all the buzz surrounding her character’s sex worker turn in “Euphoria” season three, experts have also weighed in on the potential harm such sexualized roles could cause Sweeney’s career.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, crisis and reputation management expert Dave Quast noted that she risks getting “typecast” in Hollywood for her raunchy performances, despite the show flaunting how talented she is as an actress.
“The risk is that when the public conversation focuses more on the sexualised aspects of the role than on the performance, the same work that made her seem daring can start to narrow the brand,” Quast stated.
He added, “For Sweeney, the challenge is not that she has played sexualised roles. The challenge is making sure those roles continue to read as character choices, not as the entire brand proposition.”
While many seem to be concerned about Sweeney’s roles and career, the actress once stated that she has no issues appearing nude on screen, noting that she never felt “pushed” to do anything, especially in “Euphoria.”
