TikTok Viral 'Corn Kid' Hits The Red Carpet As 'Corn-espondent' For Broadway's 'Shucked'

It was a "fantastic" moment for Tariq, otherwise known as "Corn Kid," when he stepped onto the red carpet for the Broadway premiere of the new musical "Shucked."

Not new to the spotlight, especially when corn is involved, Tariq, 7, was the "corn-respondent" of the big event. They even had the microphone wrapped in a corn husk in honor of the new show that's all about Tariq's favorite food - "It's corn!"

Tariq shined on the red carpet as he enjoyed all the attention, not only for him but also for his favorite veggie that helped catapult him to the internet sensation he is today. He shared some moments from Tuesday night's event on his TikTok and Instagram pages.

In one TikTok video, Tariq was challenged to see how fast he could shuck corn on the cob. (Spoiler alert: It only took him 21 seconds!) The excitement on his face said all about his fun experience.

In a video shared on the "Shucked Musical" Instagram page, highlights of the event showed Tariq meeting many celebrities, enjoying being in the spotlight, and showing his excitement for the moment.

"Shucked" is the story of fictional Cobb County when there's a mystery about its corn crops suddenly dying and what the people in the town will do to fix the problem. Stars of the show include John Behlmann, Ashley D. Kelley, Alex Newell, Caroline Innerbichler, Andrew Durand, and Grey Henson.

A video on the show's Instagram page gives a brief overview of the musical captioned, "Shucked in under 60 seconds...make sense?" Storytellers in the musical, Ashley D. Kelly and Grey Henson, quickly explain the show.

"Picture a small town. Cobb County," Kelly said. "Good people, even better corn," Henson then says. The two take turns telling part of the story. "Maizy must journey far from the life she's always known," said Kelly. "Leaving her family and once beloved beau," Henson added.

Since becoming a viral sensation, thanks to an interview with Recess Therapy in a New York City park last summer, Tariq has enjoyed quite the adventure. He has met many people along the way.

After the initial interview went viral, a song was created that you can't go unheard of once you hear it. "It's Corn" can still be heard all around TikTok.

Tariq has been on "The Drew Barrymore Show" multiple times, has done collaborations with popular YouTuber Mr.Beast, was named the "Corn-ambassador" of South Dakota, rode on the Green Giant float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, was interviewed by Keenan Thompson and Kevin Hart and much more. He was even the recipient of a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award just last month.

While the "corn-awesome" adventure continues, Tariq's TikTok page keeps growing so all his corn-loving fans can keep up with what he's up to next.
