Tariq, AKA 'Corn Kid', Adorably Interviews Drew Barrymore And Savannah Guthrie

After a little break from the Internet, Tariq, AKA the Corn Kid, is back at it!

He recently attended the premiere of the press junket for Drew Barrymore and Savannah Guthrie's new Netflix children's show, "Princess Power" and got the opportunity to interview the duo about their show.

"Princess Power" recently premiered on Netflix, and Tariq had some questions for the two. "Since all the characters have food names, what food would you be?" Tariq asked. Guthrie replied that she would like to be Savannah Strawberry.

"I'm a little upset because I want to be macaroni and cheese," Barrymore said. Guthrie jokingly pointed out that macaroni and cheese is not a fruit though. Tariq then jumped in to answer his own question. "Well, if I would have a food name, mine would start with W for watermelon."

Onto the next question!

"You get an animal sidekick. What animal would be yours?" he asked. After Barrymore said she would like to have a capuchin monkey as a sidekick because, "they're so cute and like fun," Guthrie jumped in to say, "They seem too energetic for me. I think I'd like an aging dog."

That response made Barrymore rethink what sidekick she would actually want and decided on a sloth instead. Tariq added his thoughts on a good sidekick saying he would like his to be a fish.

After all his questions were answered, the adorable 7-year-old got up from his formal interviewing spot to give both Barrymore and Guthrie a big group hug. See Tariq's TikTok video HERE.

In September, Tariq made an appearance on "The Drew Barrymore Show" and had a "corntastic" time trying new things and giving his opinions. They sampled corn-flavored soda and baby corn, since Tariq has such a love for corn-on-the-cob.

Barrymore also had him try some vegetables other than corn and shared the outcome in a clip on social media. See the video HERE. Needless to say, after trying the veggies, corn was still his number one go to!

Followers of Barrymore's TikTok page enjoyed seeing the corn-loving child trying new veggies and getting his honest take on them.

"Maybe he shall just stick to corn," one person commented. "He is like baby Gordon Ramsey," added another.

What started out as a simple interview about his love of corn in a New York City park with Julian Shapiro-Barnum of Recess Therapy, turned into an exciting adventure for Tariq.

That one viral interview led Tariq to being called the "Corn Kid." Then another interview and viral song happened. He was named the "Corn-Bassador" of South Dakota, got to meet YouTube sensation MrBeast and do a few collabs with him, rode on the Green Giant float in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and more!

Tariq's sweet love of corn helped him to entertain many and gave him the adventure of a lifetime that seems to still be going strong.
