Spencer Pratt‘s mayoral run continues to draw a mix of opinions from Hollywood, and the latest remark comes from comedian Hannah Einbinder.
The TV personality announced his shocking candidacy earlier this year, citing the devastating loss of his home to the Palisades wildfires as the motivation behind his political ambition.
While Pratt has earned some major stamps of approval from A-listers in the industry, not everyone believes in his vision.
Why Hannah Einbinder Is Speaking Out Against Spencer Pratt
The “Hacks” actress weighed in on Pratt’s political ambition over the weekend, confirming that she won’t be voting for the former reality star.
Speaking at the Critics’ Choice Association’s Celebration of LGBTQ+ Cinema & Television in Los Angeles, Einbinder seemingly suggested Pratt’s run drew selfish supporters. She told Variety:
“There’s a lot of wealth in this city, and I think that there are a lot of people who masquerade as Democrats or people on the left, but really, money is their key issue and that’s what leads them to vote for people like Spencer Pratt — who is endorsed by Donald Trump.”
According to Einbinder, “It’s important to resist that.” The stand-up comedian further endorsed Pratt’s rival, City Councilmember Nithya Raman, saying her choice was “complicated.”
Describing her decision as “pragmatic,” the 31-year-old noted there were no perfect candidates. When the option of running for office was presented to her, Einbinder declared she would never get into politics and then referenced reality star Lisa Rinna.
“No! Spencer shouldn’t, and neither should I, OK? I’m with Lisa Rinna, I stand with Lisa Rinna,” she quipped.
What Did Lisa Rinna Say About Spencer Pratt’s Candidacy?

It is no surprise that Einbinder cited “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, given that she was one of the vocal critics against Pratt.
Days ago, Rinna made headlines after sharing her political views at the 2026 American Music Awards red carpet. Although she noted she was unsure who would get her vote, the Bravo star was decidedly certain a certain candidate didn’t qualify.
“Not a reality star, though. I’m sorry. I love him, but we’ve already done that. We’re not gonna do that again,” she said of Pratt, as The Blast reported.
Nevertheless, that didn’t mean Rinna thought “The Hills” alum was incapable of winning the race, as she admitted he had a lot of power behind him.
However, she firmly stated that a “reality person” shouldn’t be mayor.
Spencer Pratt Responded To Lisa Rinna’s Criticism

Rinna’s comment wasted no time reaching the intended target, and Pratt had a mouthful, dragging current Mayor Karen Bass into the conversation.
Taking to X, the 42-year-old uploaded an excerpt of a Fox News interview where he addressed his reality TV past in relation to his political ambition.
“The reality, pun intended… is that was from 20 years ago,” he said about his time on “The Hills,” before turning the spotlight on Bass’ past, which he alluded was crooked.
“If we look at what Karen Bass was doing 20 years ago, she was in Cuba learning how to make bombs with the people who would then go to bomb Capitol Hill,” he alleged, per The Blast.
Pratt then addressed Rinna in the accompanying caption, saying that if she was against his run because of his past, she should also consider Bass’.
Jimmy Kimmel Labels Pratt A ‘Narcissist’

Rinna isn’t the only one uncomfortable with Pratt’s past as a reality star. Late-night show host Jimmy Kimmel recently shared a similar sentiment.
As The Blast reported, during the May 27 episode of his show, Kimmel used his opening monologue to disparage Pratt’s bid, comparing it to Donald Trump’s political journey.
“You think this guy wants to sit through city council meetings all day talking about zoning? No, he wants to be a star again,” he slammed.
While acknowledging Pratt’s motivation for running as valid, Kimmel believes it is a situation of “another narcissist looking for attention.”
The ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ Star Is Backed By Hollywood VIP

Despite having quite a number of critics, Pratt still has the support of the crème de la crème of the industry, as recently revealed by him.
In an interview discussing his race, the California native gushed about getting private endorsements from some powerhouses, who preferred to remain behind the scenes.
“Usually I don’t name-drop, but I had two of my favorite people ever support me,” he shared, per The Blast. “Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx both said, ‘Please, Mr. Mayor, we want these streets safe again.'”
Although neither of the actors publicly endorsed Pratt, he bragged about having multiple witnesses to back his claim.
