Reality TV star Spencer Pratt has transformed his mayoral bid into one of the most talked-about political stories, with several high-profile celebrities now rallying behind him.

Pratt first announced his run for mayor of Los Angeles in January, entering the race against incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and Councilmember Nithya Raman.

Now, with the city’s primary election set for June 2, the TV star is opening up about the famous faces backing his campaign.

In a recent interview, the former “The Hills” star discussed his political aspirations, sharing his goals and addressing the growing attention surrounding his run.

When asked whether he had received any private endorsements, the 42-year-old did not hesitate to mention two Oscar-winning actors he claims are in his corner.

“Usually I don’t name-drop, but I had two of my favorite people ever support me,” Pratt told US Weekly. “Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx both said, ‘Please, Mr. Mayor, we want these streets safe again.’” If their reps try to deny this happened, I have multiple witnesses.

Pratt described the moment as “an out-of-body experience,” although DiCaprio has yet to publicly address the alleged endorsement.

Over the past weeks, Pratt has been building momentum with his campaign, attracting donations and attention from several influential figures. Music executive Lucian Grainge, Lakers CEO Jeanie Buss, and Oscar-winning producer Brian Grazer have all reportedly joined his circle of backers.

Paris Hilton, Big Sean, and Jenny McCarthy have also boosted his campaign online. Earlier this month, David Foster and Katharine McPhee even hosted an upscale fundraiser at their home in his honor.

Despite the traction surrounding Pratt’s political run, not everyone in Hollywood appears convinced he is the right choice for the city. “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum Lisa Rinna recently suggested she does not believe another reality TV figure belongs in office.

As The Blast reported, Rinna was recently approached on the red carpet at the 52nd American Music Awards, where the conversation quickly shifted to politics.

When asked who she believes should become Los Angeles’ next mayor, she admitted she was still undecided but ruled out one option immediately.

“Not a reality star,” she said. “I’m sorry. I love him, but we already tried that before. We don’t need to do it again.”

Another high-profile figure who is not on Pratt’s side is Drew Carey, who has used his platform to urge voters not to support him.

As The Blast reported, Carey took to social media, calling citizens to reconsider their support for Pratt, even suggesting why they need to.

“I understand being angry/unsatisfied, but at least get behind someone competent and not some serial scammer without a soul or moral compass,” Carey wrote. “F-ck this guy already.”

Amid both criticism and growing public backing, Pratt has also opened up about the political beliefs that shape his views.

According to The Blast, the media personality explained that his Republican alignment developed from personal safety concerns linked to his years in the spotlight.

Pratt shared that after receiving death threats over the years, he and his wife, Heidi Montag, decided to purchase firearms following recommendations from their security team.

He added that to be able to carry the firearms legally, he pursued concealed carry permits, something he noted was largely championed by Republicans. That connection, he explained, made his party choice straightforward.

With only days remaining before voters head to the polls, another notable supporter has stepped forward. Per The Blast, NBA player Kyle Kuzma revealed on X that he placed a $36,000 bet on Pratt winning the mayoral primary.

Kuzma even shared a screenshot showing the wager could pay out more than $133,000 if Pratt pulls off an upset victory.

The post quickly sparked criticism online, with many users mocking the basketball star for backing what they viewed as a long-shot campaign. One critic commented, “You’re trying to ruin LA from afar now? Didn’t you do enough damage while you were here?”

Instead of backing down, Kuzma doubled down on his stance, writing that Los Angeles has been “cooked since Covid.” More users soon piled on, criticizing the basketball player for what they considered a reckless gamble.
