One more person is riding on Spencer Pratt‘s chances of becoming the next Mayor of Los Angeles.
Kyle Kuzma, a professional basketball player, recently showcased his support for Pratt with a shocking bet.
The revelation left many stunned, with some fans slamming Kyle Kuzma for wasting money on Spencer Pratt’s campaign. However, the athlete isn’t the first athlete to stand in Pratt’s corner.
Kyle Kuzma Places $36,000 Bet On Spencer Pratt In Mayor Race

Kuzma cast his lot with Pratt in the mayoral race, revealing on X that he had placed a $36,000 bet on the former “The Hills” star winning the June 2 nonpartisan primary. He shared a screenshot of the bet, which claimed he could have a massive payout of $133,588.89 if Pratt won.
“For my parlay papis I’m going big on @spencerpratt,” Kuzma captioned the post. His words sparked a wave of criticism from fans, who slammed the basketball player for siding with the losing team. “D-mn, you’re trying to ruin LA from afar now? Didn’t you do enough damage while you were here?” someone quipped.
The comment caught Kuzma’s attention, who doubled down on his support for Pratt. “LA has been cooked since Covid, what am I missing lol,” the athlete replied. A fan fired back at his response, writing, “missing a lot, but I’m gonna assume that’s because you’re just not that bright.”

The criticism continued, with more X users calling Kuzma out for what they believed was a dumb bet. “This n-gga Kuzma always pops up on here and shows everybody he’s a f-ckin’ r-tard every once in a while,” a disappointed fan claimed.
Another agreed, noting Kuzma’s bet was no better than setting his money on fire. “Kyle, there’s better ways to burn $36,000,” a third added before sharing better ways Kuzma could have spent the money in a separate post. On the other hand, some X users applauded Kuzma for standing with Pratt.
Someone argued that Kuzma didn’t make the wrong choice, pointing out that Pratt’s polls had doubled from 11% to 22%. A fellow supporter declared that anyone who “doesn’t vote for Spencer is a jerk.” An X user supported Kuzma, stressing that he had the right to express his opinions.
The Mayor Hopeful Gained Massive Financial Support

Pratt began running for Mayor after losing his Pacific Palisades home in the 2025 wildfires. He expressed frustration over the city’s emergency response failures and became hellbent on removing incumbent Mayor Karen Bass from her seat.
The Blast reported in April that Pratt’s campaign put Bass’ efforts to shame in the financial department thanks to overwhelming support from other celebrities. The list included Doug Reinhardt, Jeff Jenkins, Katharine McPhee, and Rick Salomon, among others.
Since launching his campaign in January, Pratt reportedly raised a total of $539,616.85, $50,000 more than Bass, whose campaign has raised $494,734.76 since its launch. While many seemed eager to support Pratt, the same could not be said for his younger sister.
‘The Guy You Loved to Hate’ Author’s Sibling Bashed His Political Dreams

Earlier this year, Pratt’s younger sister, Stephanie, spoke out against him in a social media rant. She called him out for using the mayoral race to stay relevant, claiming a vote for Pratt was “a vote for stupidity” as her older brother was far from qualified.
According to Stephanie, Pratt wasn’t worthy of the seat given their alleged past. She accused her older brother of physical abuse and blamed him for getting her “hooked” on drugs as a teen. She also alleged that Pratt was once in a cult, making him unqualified and inexperienced for the position.
Despite these claims, Pratt received an outpouring of love and support from other celebrities. The Blast covered the story, reporting that legendary music producer David Foster and his wife, Katharine McPhee, hosted a lavish fundraiser for Pratt at their Brentwood mansion.
Spencer Pratt Shuts Down Political Association Speculations

The Blast recently reported that Pratt made waves for standing as an Independent in the ongoing mayoral race. He shut down the speculations of his political associations on X, stressing that he was not tied to the Republicans or Democrats.
“I’m not part of a political party, because I hate politicians. I’m just Spencer, husband to Heidi, father to Ryker and Gunner,” Pratt wrote. He argued that he was running for mayor out of frustration for what “corrupt politicians” have done to his beloved city of Los Angeles.
Pratt’s words sparked mixed reactions from fans, with some applauding his stance and others accusing him of playing both sides. Although Pratt is running for mayor as an Independent candidate, he is a registered Republican.
