The 63rd annual GRAMMYs have been taking place all day in Los Angeles as plenty of awards were handed out before the actual show started at 8pm ET. Megan Thee Stallion won her first Grammy award early in the day for Best Rap Performance for her "Savage" remix featuring Beyoncè . This was regarded as one of the best records of 2020 along with collaborations in general. Now, the H-Town hottie has just scored another huge win in Los Angeles.
Megan Also Wins Award For 'Best New Artist' At GRAMMYs
Megan Thee Stallion other victory at the GRAMMYs is also Best New Artist. She was a heavy favorite to win this award as the other nominees in this category were Ingrid Andress, Phoebe Bridgers, Chika, Noah Cyrus, D Smoke, Doja Cat, and Kaytranada. This win for Megan comes during a year where she created plenty of hit records such as Savage remix, "Girls In The Hood," "Don't Stop," "Body," and "Cry Baby" feat. DaBaby. Megan originally turned into a star in 2019 with her 2018 single, "Big Ole Freak."
Megan Is First Rapper To Win 'Best New Artist' This Century
With this win, Megan also made history. According to Chart Data, she is now the first female rapper to win this award this century. She is also the first female rapper to reach this mark since Lauryn Hill did so back in 1999. Megan has been a huge fan-favorite in the industry overall since 2019 as fans have supported every single and project she's released since then. With her Grammy wins, Megan continues to set herself up for another epic year.
Megan Recently Hit Two New Platinum Eligibility Certifications From RIAA
Megan Thee Stallion continues to win big with her 2020 debut studio album, "Good News," as well. The Cry Baby single with DaBaby recently sold over 1 million units in the US which made it eligible for platinum certification. Good News also hit that mark as well in early February. Good News originally debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart as it was one of the most highly anticipated albums of 2020.
Megan Is Also Part Of New Calvin Klein Spring Campaign
In addition to Megan's huge accomplishments in music, she continues to win big with endorsements as well. The latest deal she's gotten done is a collaboration with Calvin Klein. This is for their spring 2021 campaign.
