There might be no forgiveness for Timbaland after he made a joke saying that Justin Timberlake should have put a muzzle on "crazy" Britney Spears.

The comments came after the release of the pop star's memoir, "The Woman In Me," in which the now 41-year-old reflected on allegations of infidelity and an unplanned pregnancy.

Timbaland Jokes That Justin Timberlake He Should Have Put A 'Muzzle' On 'Crazy' Britney Spears

In a clip posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday, Timbaland called the "Toxic" singer “crazy,” before he went on to say, “I wanted to call JT and say ‘Man! You should have put a muzzle on that girl.’”

“Timbaland is digging himself a deeper hole with Britney Spears Stans by sticking up for Justin Timberlake with his disrespectful comments,” one fan commented along with a screenshot of an old interview with Entertainment Weekly.

In the resurfaced interview with Entertainment Weekly, Timbaland said that Britney got “so big-headed” and said that she needed to apologize if she ever wanted to work with him or Justin Timberlake in the future.

“She should humble herself,” Timbaland said at the time, which won him no favors with fans who didn't understand why Britney should apologize to Justin after he was the one who pressured her into having an abortion when they dated between 1999 to 2002.

Timbaland's Apologize Seems To Be Too Little Too Late

On Tuesday night, Timbaland appeared on TikTok Live to make an apology that didn’t sound much like an apology to those listening to it. After pledging to “keep it one thousand,” Timbaland said, “I’m sorry to all the Britney fans, even to her. If she never saw the… I’m sorry because muzzle was… no. You have a voice and you speak what you wanna speak. Who am I to tell you when not to speak and I was wrong for saying that but I hope you see it from… I was looking at it from a different lens.”

“What I am is a reconcile person. I’m not a person who takes as I tried to combine in this. Let’s make a compromise. I see a point. Do you see this point? Can we all get to an agreement to say this is that and that’s this. That is how I am. So,” he concluded. “I apologize to the Britney fans and her and yes, you know, about respecting women, h--- yeah.”

Many fans did not actually accept the apology. "An apology [followed] by a but with an explanation of something doesn’t seem like a sincere apology, the hate coming his way today was too much for him and yet he was perfectly fine with Britney getting over 100 times that hate for over 20 years and thought she should be muzzled," they commented.

"If you are going to apologize do it right b/c you won’t get a second chance. Timbaland said 'I’m sorry to all the Brittney fans, even to her'. This is not an apology, but a second insult," another netizen pointed out.

A third user chimed in, "In other words, he apologized the same way JT apologized. Only when they [are] getting canceled."
