Sam Asghari Reveals What Part Of Britney Spears’ Memoir ‘Made Me Smile’

Actor Sam Asghari is opening up about his ex Britney Spears and her new memoir, "The Woman In Me."

She reportedly signed off on the final draft of her tell-all book shortly before the "Special Ops: Lioness" actor filed for divorce on August 16, 2023, so the details of their fourteen-month marriage were not included in the book. That being said, there is a part in the book that made the actor "smile."

On Wednesday afternoon, the 29-year-old actor was asked by paparazzi how he felt about his ex's new book. "I'm freakin' proud of her, and I hope she takes over the world," he said, as per Page Six. When asked about the part where she called him a "gift from God," Sam added, "That made me smile, to be honest."

Since the memoir was written before the divorce, the "Toxic" singer wrote several complimentary things about the actor, writing, “I have an appreciation for how stable he is. I love that he doesn’t even drink.” The former couple met on the set of her "Slumber Party" music video in 2016. In her memoir, Britney said that she was "instantly smitten" with him. “I knew I wanted him in my life immediately,” she added. “The chemistry with us in the beginning was insane. We couldn’t keep our hands off each other.”

Sam popped the question in September 2021, two months before her 13-year conservatorship came to an end. The two tied the knot in June 2022, but Sam filed for divorce in August 2023, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. Sources have told Page Six that the "Family Business" actor will not make any money from Britney's memoir, which has already gone on to become the best-selling celebrity memoir of all time.

Two weeks after the divorce, several different sources talked to Us Weekly about the split. One source told the outlet: “This is a new chapter for Britney in more ways than one” and emphasized that the pop star was “focusing on herself” amid the split. “She was finally getting to a positive place, and then Sam filed for divorce. People are worried how all of this will affect her,” the source shared.

“Some people are of the opinion that Britney’s on a dangerous downward spiral and the stuff she’s been [doing] hasn’t done much to dampen that worry,” a second source added. “The concern for Britney’s welfare right now is off the charts.”

Another source claimed that, despite the divorce, Britney’s relationship with her family – especially her father, Jamie Spears – is still strained.  “Britney has no intention of reconciling with her dad,” said the third source. The first source added, “Jamie is the last person she’d ever turn to. He will more than likely never be a part of her life again.”

They also said that Britney has been spending a lot of time with her longtime friend and manager, Cade Hudson, calling him “probably her closest confidante right now.”

The second source said that Britney “feels manipulated and betrayed by Sam” and confirmed previous reports that she is paying for his high-rise apartment in Los Angeles, which costs $10,000 a month. “She’s paying him until they settle everything in court,” the source claimed, insinuating that Sam intends to fight the prenup that’s in place.

“The people around Britney felt in the last two to three years that Sam had ulterior motives,” one source said, while another insider mentioned that Sam is “hoping things get resolved quickly.” They added, “He doesn’t want to play hardball with Britney, but if he has to, he will.”

As for allegations of cheating that Sam ended the marriage when Britney was unfaith, one source remained adamant that Britney didn’t cheat, saying, “That’s just Sam’s way out of the marriage. There was always a plan of action for his future.” That being said, a fourth source said that Britney “did step out on” Sam twice, including with Paul Richard Soliz, an employee with a criminal background who had been fired.

“He was fired when Britney’s team found out they were sleeping together, but then he came back into the picture,” the source said, adding that Sam found out about the alleged infidelity through security camera footage.
