Britney Spears Reportedly Broke Off ‘Fling’ With Ex Housekeeper For THIS Reason

Pop star Britney Spears reportedly broke off a "fling" with a former housekeeper because he had a criminal past.

Fans have been wondering about the pop star's relationship with one of her former employees, Paul Richard Soliz, amid rumors that the two are involved.

The 41-year-old pop star is currently in the middle of splitting from actor Sam Asghari, who filed for divorce on August 16 due to accusations of infidelity.

Fans aren’t sure how to feel about Britney’s new beau if that is indeed what he is. On September 13, a source told ET that the two are involved but her team is not “supportive of the relationship” and feels that he “isn’t good for her.” However, they went on to say that Britney “likes him though” because “he makes her feel like he is acting as her protector and she finds comfort in that, especially as she moves through her split from Sam.”

On September 14, a source told the Daily Mail that the two did indeed have a “short fling” after separating from her estranged husband last month, but that she broke it off after she learned of his criminal past and “no longer has any communication” with her former employee.

The insider insisted while the two did share a brief romance, they are not currently together. “They had a short fling after Sam left but that was it,” they said. “Britney hooked up with him twice and, at the time, [she] did not know about his criminal past. She no longer has any communication with him.”

According to court documents obtained by the Daily Mail, Paul has been charged with misdemeanors such as child endangerment, disturbing the peace, and driving without a license. He is also facing multiple felonies, such as possession of narcotics for sale and possession of a firearm. The last charge occurred in December 2022, while he was employed by the pop star.

An insider told the outlet that her team failed to do a “proper background check when hiring Paul,” adding, “When his criminal past came to light recently, his employment for Britney ended.”

However, the two were photographed together earlier this month and came to pick her up from the airport when she returned to Los Angeles from her trip to Cabo San Lucas. However, an insider revealed that the “Toxic” singer did not ask him to pick her up and had no idea that he would be there.

“Britney went to Mexico to have fun and she is enjoying her freedom right now. At the same time, she is still processing her divorce from Sam and she is still healing from this,” the source shared.

“Britney is not dating anyone right now. When she does date again, it is sure as h*ll not going to be a freeloader and it is not going to be anyone who needs anything from her other than her time,” they continued.

While speaking to Us Weekly following a court appearance for allegedly violating his probation, Paul had nothing but good things to say about the pop star. “She’s a phenomenal woman. She’s a very, very good, positive,” he said earlier this week before he went on to describe himself as “not a bad dude.”

“I understand that things have been said about me in the past, and I have a criminal record — I get it,” he said. “I’m a working man. I own my own business. I do a licensed contractor technique tile.” He said that Britney has been “doing great” since the split and described Sam as a “great guy.”

A source told Us Weekly that Britney is not looking to settle down just yet, but she is open to meeting other people.

The source went on to say, “As far as dating goes, Britney just wants to enjoy her freedom and meet hot guys — that seems to be the priority,” adding, “[But] it’s hard to know what Britney really wants down the line — it changes so frequently.”
