Sam Asghari's Family Reportedly Never Thought Britney Spears Was 'Right' For Him

On August 16, actor Sam Asghari filed for divorce from pop star Britney Spears citing "irreconcilable differences," according to court documents obtained by The Blast.

The 29-year-old actor listed July 28 as the date of separation, meaning that it has been almost two months since he and the 41-year-old pop star have separated. A source close to the family has recently spoken out about their relationship, claiming that they never felt that Britney was the "right partner" for the actor.

On Tuesday, September 26, a source told Us Weekly on Tuesday that his family is feeling “thankful” that he left the relationship.

“Sam’s family is so thankful he left the relationship with Britney when he did,” a source said. “Although they will always love and support Sam, deep down they never felt she was the right partner for him.”

The insider claimed that his family tried to voice their concerns after they first met in 2016 but “let it go” when “things were getting serious.”

Another insider told the outlet that the "Special Ops: Lioness" actor and the "Toxic" singer had been having “problems for a while,” adding, “Although things seemed OK on the surface, there was a lot going on behind the scenes. Sam just wasn’t happy and no longer saw a future with Britney.”

They went on to say, “They both wanted different things and they couldn’t come to an agreement on several issues such as having children.”

Last month, another source told the outlet, “Sam is focused on moving forward with his life and although he shared a lot of happy memories with Britney, he’s excited to see what’s next,” adding, “Sam is continuing to work on his fitness brand, but his main focus is pursuing his acting career. That’s where his passion lies and what makes him the happiest.”

That same source said that Britney is “focusing on herself” despite the concerns about her health. “Some people are of the opinion that Britney’s on a dangerous downward spiral and the stuff she’s been [doing] hasn’t done much to dampen that worry,” the insider claimed. “The concern for Britney’s welfare right now is off the charts.”

On Monday, fans were concerned for Britney Spears – and her pups – when she posted a video that featured her spinning around barefoot on her living room floor while brandishing two large knives.

“I started playing in the kitchen with knives today ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️ !!! Don’t worry they are NOT real knives !!! Halloween is soon ??? !!!” she wrote in the caption.

Although she tried to assure fans that they were fake, the clinking of the knives heard in the video combined with cuts that she was sporting in a follow-up video made fans question if they were actually fake.

Although the first video features her dancing as usual, the second video features her dancing with a bandage around her wrist. She also has a cut on her leg and a bruise on her lower back.

In the caption, Britney wrote, “My ‘Pretty Woman’ top … kinda cool after my briefing on polka dots ???????? !!!! Swipe to see both !!!”

The "Oops!... I Did It Again" singer did not state what caused the injuries, but it did concern fans.

Later on Tuesday night, the pop star shared a long caption saying that she felt “weaker” after losing “a lot” of weight amid her divorce from Sam Asghari.

However, the "Baby One More Time" singer later edited the caption to say, “Lighten up about the knives I’m copying Shakira ? !!!” The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer recently danced with knives at the MTV VMAs earlier this month.
