While the topic of who the next face of the NBA will be is often debated, many people like to speculate who they think will fit that spot once James retires from the league.

According to Arenas, he thinks that Morant, 23, has what it takes to fill those shoes, despite all the issues he's currently struggling with.

"The only person who has the charisma, the style, is the one that's getting in trouble, is Ja Morant," he said on a recent episode of Arena's podcast, "No Chill with Gilbert Arenas."

"He's the only one who has the style of play that will put people in the seats."

The former NBA player continued by explaining that when you think of the face of the league, "you're talking about someone that's airborne."

"So it has to be someone that can put the people in the seats, so to be honest, it is Ja Morant," he continued.

"He has the style, he has the look, just right now, he doesn't understand who he is and what is asked of him. He might not be mentally ready to take on that challenge. Nobody's even asked him, 'Do you wanna be the face?'"

One person thought there were other better possibilities. "Really??!? Next to Luka, Joker, Giannis, even Joel? Come on now," they wrote.

Another person agreed that Morant could potentially take on that role but not without some changes. "If Ja could find his mamba or Jordon or Tyson Killer instincts, yeah he would be the face easily!! But his mindset is weak he needs to strengthen it to back his works."

Another Twitter user thought there were more "mature" options to choose from. "No, Tatum is still better than Ja. Shai, Fox and Wemby has the potential too. They are humble, unselfish and more mature than Ja."

When talking about Morant's trouble, Arenas is talking from his own experience. Arenas was suspended indefinitely in 2010 for admittingly bringing a gun into the Wizards' locker room after an issue with a teammate, according to TMZ Sports.

Arenas was suspended and told TMZ that despite all his accomplishments, the incident changed how people view his career.

"What do you want your legacy to be? I did 99 things right. I did one thing wrong," he said. "Everybody remembers the one thing. No matter how many championships, how many scoring titles you win. They're going to remember this moment in this time."

Morant is currently suspended from all team activities while the league investigates his second Instagram Live where he flashes a gun. After the first incident earlier this year, Morant was suspended for eight games and attended a two-week counseling program to learn how to better handle his stress.

After the second incident in mid-May, he issued a statement apologizing and taking accountability for his actions.

"I know I've disappointed a lot of people who have supported me. This is a journey and I recognize there is more work to do," his statement reads. "My words may not mean much right now, but I take full accountability for my actions. I'm committed to continuing to work on myself."
