Sharna Burgess, who is now an official American citizen, has lots of exciting plans lined up for the year, and as usual, she is spilling details to her fans.
The extraordinary dancer is preparing to do some travels in the coming months, but she has to get a new passport after earning her citizenship, which she is eternally grateful for.
Sharna Burgess Is Excited To Apply For New Passports But Dreads Paperwork
As an official American citizen, Burgess is working on getting a new passport alongside her son Zane whom she shares with Brian Austin Green. Amid the process involved in obtaining the document, she shared a candid video of how her day was going as she was swamped with paperwork.
In the Instagram Story post, the 37-year-old looked casual in a tie-dye long-sleeved blouse and off-white pants while her long tresses were arranged over one shoulder. "I have a bunch of travel coming up, and I need to apply for my new passport now," she said before delightfully stating that she was a citizen.
Burgess added that although she should have done the procedures months before, that day was scheduled for paperwork, meaning she had to do Zane's passport as well. It was a "super exciting" moment for her, even after pointing out how boring the day was, being stuck in an office doing paperwork and forms filling.
Nevertheless, the choreographer was okay with the scenic view from the office's window as she gushed, "boring, but you know I don't mind sitting here with this view. I'll take it, which consisted of clear blue skies and a stretch of vivid green land.
This comes on the heels of her joyous announcement about being an American citizen after more than a decade, which she never believed would be so emotional. As The Blast reported, last October, Burgess hopped on the gram with a clip of her getting sworn in at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
She rocked a black tank top and jeans for the occasion while accessorizing with stacks of gold bracelets and necklaces. Additionally, accompanying her in the clip was her partner Green who took some shots with her, feeling joyous about the moment.
After setting the reel to Whitney Houston's recording of the national anthem, the Australian ballroom dancer began in the caption, "Today something really amazing happened :) "I had no idea this would feel emotional for me." She continued, "This has been my home for nearly 12 years now. My son was born here; my life, love, and career…all here."
Despite the number of years, she had just taken the final step in becoming a citizen and "finally having the same rights as all Americans," the ballroom dancer felt super sentimental because she finally found her home after having to move from one country to another since she left Australia.
The "DWTS" alum's nomadic lifestyle never allowed her to vote anywhere, and she felt like "a Gypsy searching for belonging." Fortunately, her move to America did wonders as it gradually became her permanent home after being fearful for years of settling down in one place.
The dancer further shared, "I found my tribe here, I bought a home here, I fell in love here, I birthed my son here. Now, this final step is the period at the end I never knew I was needing so much."
In conclusion, she rejoiced in the momentous accomplishment and declared, "I, Sharna Burgess, am a citizen of The United States of America, and I belong here."
The 'DWTS' Alum Has Mixed Feelings About Son's Speedy Development
Amid her joy about her new identity as an American citizen, Burgess' has mixed feelings about her only son Zane growing up a lot faster than imagined.
Much to the disappointment of his doting mother who wants him to be her baby forever if possible, that hasn't been the case. The little one recently learned something new that his mama told her fans about via an Instagram Story.
As seen in the attached picture, a screenshot of a private message between Burgess and an unnamed person, Zane fed himself without assistance, causing mixed feelings for his mom.
She sent a snap of the tot, and he was captured laying on a gray comforter, covered with a white blanket while watching "Elmo." He held his feeding bottle to his mouth himself, an impressive feat despite his age. However, Burgess felt betrayed by time and wrote in the update, "My heart swelled and ached all at once. Time is a thief."
