She accessorized with numerous gold bracelets and necklaces and smiled widely as she held the U.S flag to her chest. The Australian native wasn’t alone in the big moment as her boyfriend Brian Austin Green was around to take some pictures with his woman at such a monumental moment.

The heartwarming video was recorded to Whitney Houston’s recording of the national anthem, and in the accompanying caption, the "So You Think You Can Dance" alum got candid about the journey to reaching this important milestone. "Today something really amazing happened :)," Burgess began her caption.

The 37-year-old continued, "I had no idea this would feel emotional for me. This has been my home for nearly 12 years now. My son was born here, my life, love, and career…all here. And yet this last step of becoming a citizen and finally having the same rights as all Americans felt so important. Maybe it’s because I’ve lived outside Australia since I was 18, so much of that was out of a suitcase and from one country to another."

The mother-of-one opened up about not ever having the chance to vote in a place while feeling like "a Gypsy searching for belonging." Burgess noted that she was afraid of staying in one place while also craving the security of it. However, all those worries went away when she relocated to the United States.

"But then, America slowly became my permanent home. Eventually, I found my tribe here, I bought a home here, I fell in love here, I birthed my son here. Now, this final step is the period at the end I never knew I was needing so much," the dancer confessed.

She concluded her touching post by celebrating the fact that her "very long chapter of finding belonging has finally come to a close." The winner of the 27th season of "DWTS" declared, "I, Sharna Burgess, am a citizen of The United States of America, and I belong here. ???."

Burgess was flooded with congratulatory messages from her "DWTS" family. Cheryl Burke wrote, "Congratulations, my love ???," while Gleb Savchenko added, "Congratulations, that’s so amazing and important ?."

Baby Zane Is Three Months Old!

Burgess’ achievement as an American citizen comes shortly after she marked a major milestone for her son, whom she welcomed with Green. In late September, baby Zane Walker turned three months, and the doting mother took to social media to pour out her heart.

As The Blast reported, the television personality shared a heartwarming video of the moment when the little one was born to several monumental moments of all the time since she welcomed him. In the accompanying caption, Burgess doted on her little one, writing, "3 months of you ? 3 months of watching you grow, of being in awe of you and of experiencing a love like I’ve never known."

The Ballroom dancer confessed that "Motherhood is by far the coolest thing" she has ever done, and she is forever grateful for it. She concluded her caption, writing, "The magic, the love, the fear, the sleepless nights, and the memories of it all. I am the luckiest Mama in all the land."

Burgess and Green welcomed their first child together in July and have since shown off the little bundle of joy at any given chance.
