Corn Kid Thinks He's Being Interviewed By Kenan And Kel, Much To Kevin Hart's Surprise!

Kevin Hart was excited to meet Internet famous Corn Kid during an interview for Peacock's "2022 Back That Year Up with Kevin Hart & Kenan Thompson." But much to Hart's surprise, Tariq, otherwise known as Corn Kid, is more of a fan of Kel Mitchell's.

During the comedic year end recap special, hosts Hart and Thompson spoke with Tariq about his year filled with corntastic excitement. And while Hart was happy to be speaking with the TikTok famous 7-year-old, Tariq hilariously mistakes him for a different celeb - Thompson's old sidekick, Mitchell.

Corn Kid rose to Internet fame over the summer after a video interview with Recess Therapy went viral. The interview was turned into a catchy song that most TikTokers couldn't escape, and more interviews came along for the spunky outgoing corn lover. Tariq did some collabs with YouTuber Mr. Beast, visited with Drew Barrymore on "The Drew Barrymore Show," was named Corn-bassdor of South Dakota, had a character dedicated to his likeness on "Saturday Night Live," and many other corn-awesome moments that led him to being part of Peacock's year end recap.

When Thompson asked if Tariq still likes corn, since many are probably wondering if he's sick of the veggie that made him a household name, he replied, "I still love corn!"

Tariq, who's clearly excited to be talking to Hart and Thompson then changes the vibe a bit. "This is so exciting. I get to meet the actual Kenan and Kel," he said. "You, Kel, when I seen like a couple of old episodes, I saw you and you looked like a girl." Hart, looking slightly confused, decided to just go with it. "Yeah, well the good thing is, we both here. So go ahead and ask me, what you've seen that I did," Hart said.

Thompson then decided to jump in and possibly clear up some of this confusion. "So what do you think of a guy named Kevin Hart? You've heard of Kevin Hart before?" Thompson asked. "You know, Kevin Hart, Jumanji, with the Rock?" Tariq adorably replied, "No," and explained that his 12-year-old sister is a huge fan of the actor's. Hart seemed to admit defeat and replied, "But you're not?"

The interview then turned to discuss Tariq's recent appearance in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on the Green Giant float. Corn Kid quickly interrupted the interview at that point saying, "Oh wait, I forgot one more thing about Kevin Hart. Like, when I see Kevin Hart, can my sister like see him and say hi?" Hart replied to the sweet gesture saying, "I would love to say hi to your sister but I'm trying to be clear, are you a fan or not? Like, what's happening, man?" The hilarity didn't end there. Actually, it just got more intense. "You probably know this, Kel, but I didn't even know Kevin Hart until you told me this," Tariq said.

Thompson then tried to clear up all the confusion by telling Tariq that his co-host is not Mitchell, but in fact, Kevin Hart. "You need to set him straight, man," Hart tells Thompson. "Serious man, I'm getting hot."

To wrap up the hilarious segment, Hart had a message for Tariq. "Tariq, we are so happy for you and all the successes you had. More importantly, what we love is that you were just being yourself," he said. "This is Kel, signing out."
