Vinny Guadagnino is currently competing on this season of “Dancing With the Stars," but the judges have been brutally honest with him thus far.
The "Jersey Shore" alum, who is partnered with Koko Iwasaki, is speaking out regarding his experience with the reality competition show thus far.
Vinny Guadagnino Opens Up About His "DWTS" Experience
In a new video, the "Jersey Shore" cast member is opening up about his experience thus far and thanking his fans for their support. "Guys, you saved me again. I made it another week on 'Dancing With the Stars'," Guadagnino said. "[I] had the lowest scores again."
Last week, Guadagnino and his partner, Koko Iwasaki, scored a total of 23 out of 40, placing him at the bottom of the leaderboard, although he was not in the bottom two of the evening, making him safe from elimination.
He continued, "It's fun, but it is challenging and there's a lot that goes into it. I am really on a journey here and you guys are like saving me and keeping me in it with the votes so I really just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart."
The 34-year-old admitted that he is not a dancer by any means, and he never knows what to expect from "Dancing With the Stars" every week, but he knows the reason he is still competing is because of his fan base.
"Thank you and I'm going to keep pushing forward, try to find more dances that work for me [and] that are fun," he continued. "I'm being myself there ultimately and that's what matters, right?"
Vinny Guadagnino Speaks Out On “Dancing With the Stars” Criticism
Social media users did not hold back their own opinions on Guadagnino’s performance during his first night of "Dancing With the Stars," when earned 17 out of 40 points, putting him at the bottom of the leaderboard. Not long after night one, he, himself, addressed that backlash.
“The Twitter world is talking right now — little justice for Vinny going on here, but I can’t be mad at it because, like, I don’t control that,” he said. “That’s what they say. I’m definitely not a technical dancer. So if they’re gonna look at all the technique, technical things, like, I definitely have room for improvement, but the fans came out to vote and that’s what’s most important.”
Guadagnino has his competition set out for him as other stars completely dominate the leaderboard week after week. TikTok star Charli D’Amelio, “Let’s Make a Deal” host Wayne Brady, Drag Queen Shangela, "Legally Blonde" actress Selma Blair and “Bachelorette” Gabby Windey are currently amongst the top of the leaderboard week after week.
“The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” actor Alfonso Ribeiro and “America’s Next Top Model” host Tyra Banks are currently co-hosting the new season of “Dancing with the Stars” with Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough all returning as judges for this season.
The reality competition show recently moved from its home of ABC to Disney’s streaming service, Disney+, and airs every Monday night at 8 p.m. ET.
