Anstead first met Zellweger when she worked with him on the “Celebrity IOU: Joyride” set and featured in an episode in June 2021.
Shortly after that initial spark, they began to spend time together and soon started dating. They went on their first public appearance as a couple sometime in August and became official on Instagram shortly after.
In an interview with Jeremy Parsons, the host of the TV show “People,” Anstead said, “I mean, there’s no hiding it,” everyone knows that Renée and I are dating.” He also expressed that he was grateful for the show as it brought him and Zellweger together. He said, “Sometimes when things collide, they collide at the most obscure times when you least expect them. And that’s what happened in this case.”
