Elon Musk and Grimes' Break-Up Sparks Interesting Fan Reactions

Over the past few years, social media has given fans the juicy details of celebrities' breakups ... from when Michelle Williams and Phil Elverum got divorced to when Lady Gaga and Christian Carino called off an engagement.

Following in the same pattern, billionaire technopreneur, Elon Musk, and musician, Grimes have parted ways after three years together.

But rather than arouse sympathy and support like other celebrity breakups, social media was awash with fans jubilating that the relationship went belly-up. They opined that the couple was a mismatch and the breakup was long overdue.

Fans of the Tecno-pop artist have constantly voiced their disdain about her relationship with the Space X founder.

They alluded that she had lost touch with her creative side since she got hitched with Musk. Therefore, when they announced the split, her fans were glad to laugh at its ill-fated end.

“Everything I know about Grimes and Elon Musk I’ve learned against my will and hopefully now my mind will finally know peace,” one person wrote.

“Grimes and Elon Musk broke up this is better than my birthday,” another tweeted.

Several fans are already hoping that the Canadian-born singer would use the breakup as a creative means to spawn a new album.

“Maybe this means grimes will make good music again,” a fan wrote, adding a crossed fingers emoji.

I just know her next little goblin album is about to slap,” another user hoped.

Some time ago, Azealia Banks went to Musk’s house to make some music with Grimes. However, Musk stepped in, and Grimes turned all her attention to him leaving Banks alone in the home studio.

This caused a public feud between the singers as Banks took to social media to call her out on the act. A lot of bad blood has occurred between the pair since that event, but it seems Banks is ready to kiss and make up.

“Ok girl, can we finally make those darn songs now that apartheid Clyde is out of the way? We were really supposed to eat these b—— up,” she wrote on her Instagram story.

“If Elon Musk and Grimes can't make it work, what hope do the rest of us in billionaire/synth-pop performer relationships have???”

Grimes has kept mute about Bank's request, as she is still reeling from the breakup. But like many fans, it appears that Banks was happy to see the relationship finally hit the rocks.

In an interview with Page Six, Musk revealed the reason for his split from Grimes stating that the difference in locations caused many frictions in the relationship.

“It's mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas, and her work is primarily in LA,” Musk said.

He also added that they still had affection for each other and were not at loggerheads. With this breakup, tech fans feel that Musk can now focus on where he stopped with the Starlink project.

Currently, Space X is seeking regulatory approval from countries where the Starlink network will be available. At the virtual Macquarie Technology Summit, a spokesman within the company revealed that Starlink has over 100,000 users, and it may become operational this month.

Earlier in June, the singer spoke of a new partnered Discord server called “Grimes Metaverse Super Beta.” She has used the server to give fans teasers of new songs in anticipation of her upcoming sixth studio album with Billboard.

She is a judge on a new singing competition series named “Alter Ego,” where the participants employ motion capture technology to depict themselves as “dream avatars.”

Grimes would be joined by Will I Am, Alanis Morissette, Nick Lachey, and Rocsi Diaz as co-judges on the show.

The show premiered earlier this month and has already received a positive response from viewers.

The singer also has a podcast called “Homo Techno” which she co-hosts alongside science communicator Liv Boeree.
