The eve of the mayoral election was a tense match between candidates, with Karen Bass not holding back her punches against Spencer Pratt.
The mayor called out the reality TV alum’s qualifications in a scathing statement, deeming him far from worthy of the position of Los Angeles’ next mayor.
Spencer Pratt hasn’t been silent either, with the bulk of his campaign focused on condemning Karen Bass’ time in office.
Karen Bass Did Not Hold Back On Spencer Pratt

Bass was spotted on the eve of the mayoral election, eating at Pann’s Restaurant, where she was asked about her advice to voters still deciding between her and Pratt. The question unlocked everything Bass had buried inside, as she tore into Pratt’s qualifications as a mayoral candidate.
Bass argued that the situation was far simpler than it appeared, claiming voters were tasked with choosing between someone who had made significant changes in office versus “a reality TV star villain.” She appeared to compare Pratt to Donald Trump without naming him, telling TMZ:
“I think we know how reality stars make it when they are in government. And what’s going on is not the best picture. So, a reality star with no track record, I’m not sure he’s ever had a job other than reality TV.”
The LA Mayor Slams ‘The Hills’ Star As Ignorant

Bass’s criticism continued, with the politician arguing that Pratt was ignorant about how the city government works. She implied he was not someone who had devoted his life to change or “brought about change in some very significant ways.”
The mayor patted herself on the back while slamming Pratt, reflecting on her achievements during her reign and why voters should stick with someone with experience to ensure the city’s smooth operations. Bass also bashed Pratt as “an opponent who has taken every position on every issue, but is okay with encampments in front of schools.”
When asked how she felt about Pratt gaining significant momentum in the polls, Bass laughed it off, saying, “Well, we’ll see if he’s gaining momentum in the polls tomorrow.” Her words followed Bill Maher’s warning to Pratt about his personal vendetta against Bass.
Spencer Pratt Warned About Getting ‘Too Personal’ In His Campaign

Pratt appeared on a recent episode of Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, released on YouTube on Monday, June 1. The interview kicked off with Maher raving about Pratt’s influence since his mayoral campaign began, claiming fans desperately wanted him to be a guest on the show.
Pratt accepted the compliment with a campaign speech, claiming he never wanted to be the mayor of L.A. However, he had to run for office to expose Bass’s negligence, blaming her for 2025’s wildfires. “This person in charge burned my house down, my mom’s house, my neighbors’ houses,” he said.
Maher immediately chimed in with a warning, telling Pratt he was making his campaign “a little too personal.” The host agreed that Bass might not be the best mayor, but she couldn’t be held solely responsible for the L.A. fires. Despite his warning, Pratt doubled down on holding Bass accountable.
The Mayoral Hopeful Shut Down Criticism About His Spending Habits

Pratt has focused his campaign on thrashing Bass’ time in office and continued doing so during a recent appearance on the “No Jumper” podcast. The Blast covered the story, reporting that Pratt addressed the criticism about his past lavish spending on the show.
The reality TV alum shut down the narrative that he was not a good candidate for mayor because of his lavish taste. Pratt argued that the lavish lifestyle occurred in his early twenties when he was trying to become someone like Kim Kardashian.
He used the opportunity to slam Bass, stressing that he never spent money that wasn’t his, unlike the mayor, who allegedly used $400 million of taxpayers’ funds to house 1,400 people. Pratt added that he was never “reckless” with money and had used his wealth to help others.
Inside Spencer Pratt’s Final Speech Before The Mayor Election

According to The New York Post, Pratt’s final pitch to voters on the eve of the mayoral election was not a plea but a warning. “Los Angeles either votes for Pratt or it votes for death. The greatest city on Earth hangs in the balance,” he said.
Pratt’s final pitch paled in comparison to his efforts in the last stretch of his campaign to win over voters. He reportedly held community events, met directly with voters, and even got invited to a community barbecue in Baldwin Hills on Saturday by residents.
Naturally, Pratt never missed an opportunity to blast Bass. He told the outlet that what stood out the most to him at the Baldwin Hills event was the community’s disappointment in Bass. “They all feel disillusioned and demoralized with city leadership,” Pratt claimed.
Who will be the next mayor of Los Angeles?
