Yaya Mayweather Opens Up On Motherhood In New Interview

In early 2021, Yaya Mayweather, the daughter of hall of fame boxer Floyd Mayweather, revealed that she finally gave birth. 

She made the announcement by sharing a photo of her son's foot. Yaya had this child with popular rapper, NBA Youngboy, as the two haven't been a couple anymore ever since the birth of the child. The Louisiana rapper still hasn't publicly spoken about the child and wasn't at the baby shower in the fall either. He has since moved on with a woman named Jazlyn Mychelle. 

Over the weekend, Yaya had an Instagram Live session where she interacted with her 1.4 million Instagram followers. There, she discussed how she's been living through motherhood and how she loves this new role in her life.

"How's Mom life? It's amazing so good I love being a mother. "I'm honestly the happiest I've ever been like ever, it's just amazing."

Many followers haven't been a fan of who Yaya had her child with. In the end though, she appears to be doing fine as a mother without Youngboy.

At the end of last week, Yaya also took to her Instagram stories to reveal the iced out, gold Rolex that her father gifted her son. This is after recently saying that a Rolex would be on the way and that did in fact happen. Floyd Mayweather has also been seen on Yaya's Instagram stories on multiple occasions recently where he is seen holding the child. From these videos, it's clearly visible that Floyd has embraced the grandpa role and is supportive of Yaya being a mother right now. 

In October, Floyd sat down for an interview with Jason Lee of Hollywood Unlocked. There, the champ explained how if this is what makes Yaya happy, then he's all for it. He also noted that he wasn't living under his roof at the time anymore.

“If that makes her happy, then we’re happy — me and her mother [Melissia Rene Brim] are happy. What I try not to do is be in her personal business because once she’s no longer under my roof, then you know what? it’s between her and her better half."

At the end of January, Yaya also took to her Instagram stories to ponder on the idea of her and her son moving in with her father. There, she said  "We thinking about moving to Papa's house." 

Based on the IG stories that Yaya has shared since then, it looks like she may have moved into Floyd's house. It wouldn't be a surprising move at all though as she would be financially set and have a very nice home to live in with her newborn son.
