This past weekend, Conor McGregor had his first UFC fight in over a year and it was against Dustin Poirier, who McGregor had defeated back in 2014 via a first-round TKO.
Heading into this fight, Poirier wanted to get revenge and that’s exactly what he did. This time, Poirier earned a very impressive second-round knockout win. This improves Poirier’s UFC record to 27-6 overall.
McGregor was also the subject of many memes of himself laying on the canvass in embarrassing fashion.
Floyd Mayweather Disses McGregor On Instagram After Loss
McGregor was criticized by everyone, from stars such as UFC‘s Khabib Nurmagomedov and boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather. Mayweather defeated McGregor in 2017 in a boxing match and now, he has some words for McGregor again. Here, he called him a con artist and wondered why people praise McGregor but not him.
“I seen this post and my take on it is that the world knows Con Artist McLoser can steal everything from me and be loved but I’m hated. That just lets you all know that racism still exist. Just know, that bum will never be me or be on my level. I’m just built different, my mindset is on another planet, my skills are second to none, I’m a natural born winner and yes I talk a lot of trash, but every time I back it up!”
Mayweather Cites Race In How People View Him And McGregor
Mayweather also went on to speak in his IG post how race plays a role here in how people view McGregor and himself. For years, people let McGregor‘s boastfulness slide but not Mayweather’s.
This is what they hate. It’s sad that you can be a poor black kid from the ghetto that has dealt with racism your whole life and work extremely hard to put yourself and your family in a better position, and most of the hate come from my own people. Connor cannot even win in his own sport, but talking about coming back to boxing to fight Pacquiao. Nobody wants to see that, it’s like my leftovers eating leftovers.
