Peter Siedler, Chairman and owner of the San Diego Padres, has passed away at the age of 63.

The late Padres owner had battled cancer twice, and in September, he underwent an unspecified medical procedure, which Siedler stated would prevent him from attending any MLB games for the remainder of the 2023 season.

According to his family, he has been battling an "undisclosed illness" for months but didn't want to be more specific. In other words, there isn't a need for an investigation into the death.

“The Padres organization mourns the passing of our beloved Chairman and owner, Peter Seidler,” Padres CEO Erik Greupner said in a statement. Sedler joined the Padres’ ownership group in 2012.
