"The Woman In Me," the highly anticipated memoir from pop star Britney Spears, is scheduled for release in less than two weeks.
Unfortunately, some parts of her past are too painful for the 41-year-old pop star to relive. Although the "Toxic" singer did narrate some portions of her audiobook, it looks like she has tapped another celebrity to voice some of the more painful parts of her past, especially incidents involving her family.
The Identity Of The Celebrity Co-Narrating Britney Spears' Memoir 'The Woman In Me' Has Been Revealed!
Friday the 13th might be considered an unlucky day for some, but for fans of pop star Britney Spears, it might be an auspicious day after all. People magazine revealed the identity of Britney's co-narrator as none other than Michelle Williams.
The magazine reported that Britney will only be recording the introduction to her audiobook now, while the five-time Oscar-winning actress will record the rest of Britney’s tell-all memoir.
"This book has been a labor of love and all the emotions that come with it,” Britney told the publication in a brief statement. “Reliving everything has been exciting, heart-wrenching, and emotional, to say the least. For those reasons, I will only be reading a small part of my audiobook.”
The "Oops!... I Did It Again" singer went on to say that she is "so grateful to the amazing Michelle Williams for reading the rest of it."
In a brief statement, Michelle showed her support for the "Womanizer" singer by saying, "I stand with Britney." This will be her first audiobook.
"The Woman In Me" is scheduled for release on Tuesday, October 24, through Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster.
According to the synopsis, Britney's tell-all memoir promises to reveal “for the first time her incredible journey (and) strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history,” according to a press release from Gallery Books. The description goes on to say that Britney's book “illuminates the enduring power of music and love — and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms.”
Britney Spears' Estranged Father Jamie Spears Will NOT Be Reading 'The Woman In Me'
Although fans can't wait to get their hands on Britney's upcoming bestseller, there is at least one person who has expressed absolutely no interest in reading it. Early on Friday morning, sources told TMZ that Britney’s estranged father, Jamie Spears, has no plans to read what the pop star wrote about him in her new book.
Sources told the outlet that the 71-year-old entrepreneur already knows that his estranged daughter does not have anything positive to say about him in her book after reading what she has had to say about him on social media.
In September 2022, the "Lucky" singer wrote in a deleted Instagram post that she “prays” that both of her parents “burn in h—.”
“Sorry I will never forget because of the pain and the difference in being out of my head clear moving my feet … it has only been 10 months since the conservatorship has ended … I wouldn’t wish that kind of pain on anyone !!!” Britney wrote at the time.
“It’s extremely hard for me to accept the fact that my family did that to me … it will be hard for me for the rest of my life 😔 … as for my Mom and Dad who sat back and hid coffee from me at the house to wake me up from feeling dead and scared like an old lady … and threw me away … I will say it loud and proud … I pray you both burn in h—,” she added.
The Princess of Pop has had a difficult relationship with her father after he was put in control of her personal and financial affairs during her controversial 13-year conservatorship, which started in February 2008 following her public mental health breakdown.
The conservatorship was finally struck down by a judge in November 2021, two months after the pop star became engaged to actor Sam Asghari. Although the two tied the knot a few months later in June 2022, the "Special Ops: Lioness" actor filed for divorce on August 16 citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split, according to court documents obtained by The Blast.
