Britney Spears’ Father Jamie Spears Has NO Plans To Read Her Memoir

Jamie Spears, the estranged father of pop star Britney Spears, reportedly had absolutely no plans to read her upcoming memoir, “The Woman In Me.”

The aging entrepreneur has been suffering from numerous health scares earlier this year, including a surgery in August to clear away an infection that resulted from a knee replacement that he had done almost two decades ago.

The “Toxic” singer was subject to a controversial conservatorship from February 2008 until it was struck down by a judge in November 2021. During that time, Britney’s financial and personal affairs were largely controlled by her father, Jamie Spears. The conservatorship led to Britney becoming estranged from not only her father, but her mother, Lynne Spears, and her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, as well.

On Friday morning, sources told TMZ that Jamie is not concerned with what Britney has to say about him in her new book because he has already seen what she has to say about him and the rest of her family on social media. In September 2022, she wrote on Instagram that she “prays” that both of her parents “burn in h---.”

Jamie’s ex-wife, Lynne Spears, and his daughter, Jamie Lynn, have both released their own memoirs that discuss how Jamie was absent during most of Britney’s childhood. They also reflect on his struggles with alcohol ahead of his 2018 health scare, in which he was hospitalized for 28 days with a ruptured colon.

During her conservatorship, Britney’s lawyer, Mathew Rosengart, has alleged that Jamie has taken millions of dollars from the pop star during the conservatorship. Unfortunately, Britney hasn’t been able to get back any of that money, as most of his expenses were approved by the court while she was under the conservatorship.

It remains to be seen what Britney has to say about her father in her memoir, but it looks like Jamie does not care to know and has no interest in reading it. A source for Jamie previously told Page Six that it was doubtful Britney was going to be completely factual in her memoir, saying, “It’s going to be really interesting to read the book. I’m not sure how the publishers could even fact-check most of it. Britney has been seriously unwell in the past.”

However, it seems that Britney portrayed her mother and her sister in a more favorable light, as the source went on to say that they “don’t think” Lynne or Jamie Lynne  “will be upset” by the memoir, adding, “I think they will think it’s fair.”

Last week, People magazine reported that Jamie Spears is “now in an infectious disease outpatient facility” to treat a bacterial infection and is “on the mend” following a few weeks in the hospital. He was treated in a special infectious disease facility after developing a “bad infection” that required him to undergo surgery.

Even though there were rumors that the “Oops!... I Did It Again” singer might try to reconnect with her father while he was undergoing this latest health scare, it looks like the two never did make amends. In a deleted September 2022 Instagram post, Britney made her feelings for both of her parents quite clear.

“Sorry I will never forget because of the pain and the difference in being out of my head clear moving my feet … it has only been 10 months since the conservatorship has ended … I wouldn’t wish that kind of pain on anyone !!!” she wrote at the time.

“It’s extremely hard for me to accept the fact that my family did that to me … it will be hard for me for the rest of my life ? … as for my Mom and Dad who sat back and hid coffee from me at the house to wake me up from feeling dead and scared like an old lady … and threw me away … I will say it loud and proud … I pray you both burn in h—,” she added.

Britney's mother traveled from Louisiana to Los Angeles in May to visit her daughter at her home. Later on that summer, the pop star claimed she visited her sister on the set of "Zoey 102." Although their relationship started improving, it looks like it all started crashing down when actor Sam Asgharifiled for divorce on August 16.

The two met in 2016 on the set of her "Slumber Party" music video in 2016. They became engaged in September 2021, two months before her conservatorship ended, and tied the knot in June 2022. Unfortunately, the "Special Ops: Lioness" actor filed for divorce in August 2023 after approximately fourteen months of marriage following rumors of Britney's alleged infidelity.
