Fans Blame 'Taylor Swift Curse' For Travis Kelce's Ankle Injury After She Missed Latest Game

The "Taylor Swift curse" is alive and well... or so people say after her rumored boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, suffered a non-contact ankle injury, which caused him to leave the game at some point.

Kelce and Swift have had tongues wagging for days since the global superstar made a surprising appearance at his game against the Chicago Bears. This marked the first time they were seen in public together.

Swift subsequently attended Kelce's second game against the New York Jets but was noticeably absent at his latest match against the Minnesota Vikings. 

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce seems to have suffered a non-contact injury on Sunday during the club's match against the Minnesota Vikings.

The star athlete fell on the turf when his right leg appeared to give way after successfully catching a pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes. 

His teammates quickly helped up Kelce, but he began walking with a noticeable limp in his step. The football player looked frustrated by what happened as he slammed his helmet on the ground and slowly made his way to the locker room.

According to CBS Sports, Kelce received X-rays on his right foot at halftime, with the Kansas City Chiefs leaving it up to him to decide whether to return to the game.

In a show of resilience, Kelce jogged to the sidelines after halftime to join the Chiefs with a noticeable wrap around his right ankle. And although he had his helmet on, the athlete did not immediately return to the game to play on Kansas City's first third-quarter drive. 

During that period, he partook in some stretching and jogging exercises and, at some point, jokingly tried to rejoin the game by attempting to sneak back on the field to join his team's offensive personnel, per ProFootball.

When the Chiefs began their second third-quarter drive, Kelce finally returned to join them on the field. According to sports reporter Jordan Schultz, Kelce's team believes he suffered a "high ankle sprain," an injury that usually comes packaged with a four-to-six-week recovery period.

In the meantime, it will be essential to monitor Kelce's health.

Amid their budding romance, singer Taylor Swift was noticeably absent from Kelce's game on Sunday after attending his two previous games.

Her absence and Kelce's fall led many to playfully conclude that the athlete suffered from the "Taylor Swift" curse.

Someone tweeted, "The Taylor Swift curse is real !!!" along with three skull emojis. Another joked, "He's just trying to spend more time with Taylor."

"Taylor Swift is behind this," wrote a third person. Responding to this, someone said, "She so happened not to be at this game," implying that there's no way the "Out of the Woods" singer could have affected his performance.

As the spooky season draws nearer, rumors have already started swirling that Swift and Kelce might be planning a couple outfit.

Insiders told the Daily Mail that the duo plan to celebrate Halloween in style and intend to bring the pink world of Barbie and Ken to life.

Their decision to embody the classic dolls proves their sense of humor. It is also a nod to Barbie's timeless magic and impact on pop culture, especially after the movie's release to critical acclaim and commercial success this year.

While speaking with the news outlet, a source noted, "The whirlwind that this relationship has started is something that Taylor is familiar with, and Travis is OK with. He wants to spend as much time as possible with her before she embarks on her international tour."
