Taylor Swift Fans Brand Travis Kelce's Mom 'Rude' Over THIS Shady Comment

Singer Taylor Swift's fans, known as Swifties, have raised their eyebrows at a recent comment by the mother of her love interest, Travis Kelce.

Kelce's mother, Donna, appeared on the "Today" show on Friday and was asked how she felt when she met Swift for the first time late last month.

In her response to the questions, Donna seemingly downplayed the relationship by describing it as "fairly new" and said "it was okay" when pressed further about her interactions with the singer that day.

Following Donna's appearance on the "Today Show," social media went agog with fans' comments that analyzed her remarks about meeting Swift when her son's team, Kansas City Chiefs, played the Bears on September 24.

Many fans believed that Donna wasn't impressed by Swift, so she used the phrase "it was okay" when she was asked about meeting the global superstar. They also seemed to conclude that she didn't support her relationship with her son.

One X netizen commented, "It's the way she said 'okay.' Sounds like she is not impressed with Taylor. She could also be one of those mothers that is too clingy to her sons. God help Taylor if that's the case. She'll never win that battle."

A second person wrote, "Not a great answer…Donna sounds annoyed by Taylor. She could have tried a bit harder. If I am Taylor I won't be in the same box again. Before Taylor, Donna has been open to many other things with her sons that amped up her life."

Another fan said, "...Nothing great.Obviously she is only tolerating Taylor because of her son."

"'I don't like to talk about it' so I'm gonna go on the Today show knowing that's the only reason they would possibly be having me on right now," A fourth person tweeted sarcastically.

Some fans seemed to think Donna was being rude with the way she answered questions about the star, with one writing, "If you don't want to talk about it, then don't. She comes off as kind of rude and flippant."

Donna appeared on the show to promote her product, Kind Snacks. However, she was unexpectedly bombarded with questions by the show's presenters, Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie, who were keen to learn more about her meeting with the "Shake It Off" singer.

During the interview, the mother of two shared that she doesn't like talking about Kelce's relationship with Swift because "it is fairly new."

She added, "It's just one of those things where, you know, obviously everybody saw me. I was in the boxes with her. And, yeah, it's just, you know, another thing that's amped up my life."

Upon being probed further for other details like "what was [Swift] like" and how it felt to meet such a superstar, Donna merely replied, "It was okay." 

And when the presenters asked whether Kelce had earlier informed her not to speak on his relationship with Swift, she replied, "It's not so much a warning as it's his personal life."

Donna had previously opened up about the Kelce-Swift combo during her appearance on the October 6 episode of the "Got It From My Momma" podcast.

Donna revealed that the linked duo had altered her life, seemingly referencing how the hype has placed her on the media's radar.

"I feel like I'm in an alternate universe because it's something that I've never been involved with before," she said, per Today.

In the interview, Donna shared that she had no issues with the NFL taking advantage of it to boost their ratings.

However, it seemed to contrast with Travis's opinion on the "New Heights," a podcast he co-hosts with his brother Jason.

"They're overdoing it a little bit, especially with my situation," Kelce said when his brother asked about his opinion of how the NFL treats celebrities at games.

It is unclear when Swift and Kelce first met, although the latter's admiration for the female singer was well known after he revealed in an interview in July that he tried to give her a friendship bracelet during one of her concerts.

After rumors swirled that they had been hanging out together sometime last month, fans started getting hints that the two might be an item.

"Taylor and Travis have been quietly hanging out," a source said, per the Messenger. "She saw him when she was in NYC a few weeks ago."

Since then, Swift has been spotted attending Kelce's games and sometimes leaving the stadium with him. She was also spotted sharing a hug with Kelce's mom, Donna.

Swift previously had a whirlwind romance with Matty Healy. It lasted a few weeks before she ended things in June.
