Animal Services Reviews Britney Spears Knife Dancing Video Following Concern For Her Dogs

Pop star Britney Spears is making headlines again for all of the wrong reasons.

Shortly after she was called out by PETA for purchasing her new dog, Snow, instead of rescuing a dog from a shelter, she has fans concerned for the safety of her dogs after she posted a video to Instagram on Monday night that featured her spinning around with knives in her hands.

Although she claimed the knives were fake, fans are concerned that the "clink" of the knives heard in the video proves they are real and worry that her dogs, which can be seen running around in the video behind her, could get hurt.

On Monday night, the 41-year-old pop star posted a video that featured her dancing on Instagram in a polka dot crop top and white bottoms. She is spinning barefoot around the tiled floor of her living room, waving two knives in each hand as she dances.

Towels can be seen placed at several sports on the floor behind her as her small dogs crawl around the floor. “I started playing in the kitchen with knives today ??‍♀️??‍♀️??‍♀️ !!! Don’t worry they are NOT real knives !!! Halloween is soon ??? !!!” she wrote in the caption of the video.

However, fans weren’t so sure, especially after it looked like Britney might have cut herself with the knives she was dancing with.

It looks like Britney might have been trying to hide her injuries. The first video just shows her dancing as usual. However, fans who swipe to the second slide can see her dancing with a cut on her leg, a white bandage on her arm, and a bruise on her lower back, close to her right hip.

It's unclear how she sustained these injuries but she made no mention of them in her caption. “My ‘Pretty Woman’ top … kinda cool after my briefing on polka dots ???????? !!!! Swipe to see both !!!” she wrote.

Fans were quick to express concern for Britney’s dogs online following Monday night’s videos. When Britney bangs the knives together, the dogs quickly scamper away from the noise, as puppies would be inclined to do.

In screenshots of comments obtained from TMZ, one user wrote, “Those poor dogs just ran scared they need to be rescued and she needs HELP.” Another follower wrote, “I'm now concerned about her having dogs let alone any animals after this video." A third fan noted, “The knives made a clanking noise. They’re clearly real. Real enough to fall and kill one of those poor worried puppies.”

Despite the concern online, Ventura County Animal Services told TMZ that they have not received any official complaints. However, they went on to say, "We reviewed the video, and while the dogs appeared to be startled by the clinking of the knives, we didn’t feel they were in a situation where an officer needed to be dispatched."

Actor SamAsgharifiled for divorce on August 16, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split according to court documents obtained by The Blast. Although previous reports indicated that the 41-year-old pop star didn’t want to give up custody of any of her dogs, the 29-year-old actor was spotted walking their Doberman Porsha, prompting concern that he might have “stolen” the dog from Britney.

However, later that week, a source told TMZ that the couple had already reached an agreement over the custody of their five dogs. Sam will get to keep Porsha full-time, although he allegedly gave her as an engagement gift to Britney in October 2021.

The custody agreement said that Britney would be able to keep four of her other dogs: her Australian Shepherd, Sawyer, her Yorkie, Hannah, her Maltese, Lulu, and another small dog. It is possible that this other small dog was her new dog, Snow, whom she introduced to Instagram shortly after the custody agreement was announced. The agreement also made no mention of Britney’s cat, named Wendy.
