It looks like Sam Asgharimight be missing out on a lot of cash after divorcing Britney Spears only fourteen months into their marriage.

The former couple first started dating after meeting on the set of her "Slumber Party" music video in 2016. The two became engaged in September 2021, shortly before her conservatorship ended in November 2021. The two tied the knot in June 2022, but by March 2023, they were already photographed without their wedding rings.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the "Special Ops: Lioness" actor filed for divorce on August 16, but listed the date of their separation as July 28, 2023. He cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split and demanded spousal support and attorney's fees in the filing.

That being said, it looks like he is missing out on millions walking out on his marriage to the Princess of Pop, according to the fine print of their prenuptial agreement.

The recent “Black Mirror” episode “Joan Is Awful” taught fans the importance of reading the fine print and it’s unclear if Sam or his legal team were aware of the “loophole” in his prenuptial agreement that would have awarded him millions for staying married to the pop star.

According to Us Weekly, the former couple signed an agreement that said that the Iranian actor would receive “$1 million per every two years” of their marriage. According to the documents, the amount was capped at $10 million after fifteen years. However, Sam called it quits after just fourteen months. Since they didn’t even make it two years, it seems doubtful that Sam will receive any of that money.

The outlet also reported that the former personal trainer waived any rights to Britney’s extensive music catalog in the prenup. His name is also reportedly not listed on the couple’s shared home in Thousand Oaks, California, although TMZ was the first to report that Sam had moved out amid allegations that Britney had cheated on him with an employee in the home.

On Friday, TMZ followed up with a report that Sam will get “no payout” from the divorce and that the prenup precludes him from getting spousal support. He will get to keep any gifts that Britney gave him, and his impressive car collection, but it looks like that is all he will get from the divorce.

Of course, it remains to be seen if Sam will challenge the prenup in court. In the divorce filing, the actor, who is being represented by attorney Neal Hersh, seemed ready to challenge the prenup that was drafted by a family law attorney hired by Britney’s longtime lawyer, Mathew Rosengart.

According to the court documents obtained by The Blast, the actor “has yet to determine the full nature and extent of the separate property assets and obligations of each party.” It goes on to say, “There are various items of community and quasi-community assets and debts, the full nature and extent of which are unknown to [Sam] at this time.”

One source also told TMZ on Friday that there is an “extensive confidentiality clause” in the prenup that prohibits Sam from discussing his relationship with the pop star. They also noted that Britney might be willing to settle and write him a check just for her own "peace of mind" to make sure that he won't talk about anything that she doesn't want being made public.

It stands in contrast to earlier reports that Sam was looking to “negotiate” the prenup in the hope of a big settlement. On Wednesday night, a source told Page Six that the 29-year-old actor was reportedly “attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid.”

However, a separate source confirmed to Page Six that “Britney and Sam signed a prenup in her favor,” adding, “Any money she made before the wedding is protected.” The outlet later confirmed that Britney had hired high-power divorce lawyer Laura Wasser to represent her amid the split.

On Thursday afternoon, the actor took to his Instagram Stories to address the divorce. “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he wrote. “We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. Sh’t happens. Asking for privacy seems [ridiculous] so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful.”
