Introducing Mayor Bey! Santa Clara Gives Beyoncé Keys To City For Renaissance Tour Stop

Beyoncé is about to run the world, and on Wednesday, August 30, she took over the reins of Santa Clara! 

Mrs. Carter has the world on lock with her “Renaissance World Tour,” which kicked off in Stockholm in May. Bey has served jaw-dropping performances after the other and has even featured her eleven-year-old daughter. Her next stop happens in Levi’s Stadium on August 30, and her appearance would be in style. 

Ahead of the show, Santa Clara City Council declared the “Cuff It” hitmaker the city’s Mayor! 

The “Crazy In Love” hitmaker would be adding the Mayor title to her growing list of accolades as Santa Clara City Council crowned her Mayor for a day.

According to Mercury News, the City Council was voting on Tuesday night to transfer the Mayor title from Mayor Lisa Gillmore to Beyoncé for a single day for her show at Levi’s Stadium. Additionally, the pop sensation would be presented with a key to the city.

Santa Clara spokesperson Michelle Templeton expressed their happiness to have the singer in the city. She said, “The city of Santa Clara is excited about Beyonce’s upcoming visit to the world-renowned Levi’s Stadium. Her concerts will certainly bring a great deal of energy and excitement.”

The proclamation to make Beyonce the honorary mayor carried Mayor Lisa Gillmor’s name and praised Beyoncé’s influence. It read that the pop sensation “has had a tremendous cultural impact as one of the most influential pop culture figures, and attaining wide success with the R&B group Destiny’s Child, Beyonce (also) broke out on her own as a solo artist.”

The statement further listed Beyonce’s numerous achievements in her career. Some feats in the report included the singer selling more than 200 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling artists of all time. Also, the  “Xo” singer has bagged 32 Grammy Awards, becoming the most decorated artist.

For the big event Beyoncé's publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, received the key to the city on behalf of the "Heated" songstress. Aside from Beyoncé, the other singer to receive such honors was Taylor Swift. Swift was named honorary mayor, and the city was temporarily renamed “Swiftie Clara,” during her appearances at Levi’s Stadium in July. 

The news of Beyoncé becoming the latest Mayor comes days after she rang in the Virgo Season/ her birthday season with special instructions for fans. The Grammy Winner, who turns 42 on Sept. 4, told fans attending upcoming dates on her Renaissance World Tour to decked in their finest silver outfits

“Virgo season is upon us,” her post began. “This tour has been such a joy and as we approach the last month, my birthday wish is to celebrate with you wearing your most fabulous silver fashions to the shows 8.23 - 9.22!”

She continued, “We’ll surround ourselves in a shimmering human disco ball each night. Everybody mirroring each other’s joy. Virgo season together in a house of chrome. See you there! Your B at RWT.”

In July, the “Drunk in Love” hitmaker announced her return to the fragrance world. Per the information seen on her website, the fragrance was created as a part of her “Renaissance” project. The unnamed perfume, Eau de parfum, contains 1.7 ounces of fragrance made from a blend of different ingredients. 

For its top notes, the scent has a mixture of clementine and golden honey, while the heart notes are a blend of rose absolute and jasmine sambac. Namibian myrrh and golden amber will be the base for a warm, sexy citrus floral.

According to the website, the “Irreplaceable” singer “crafted and designed” the fragrance, adding a touch of French perfumers as it was “created in France.” The contents are contained in a 50 ml bottle, which the page described as being “encased in art.”

However, only people in the specified regions could pre-order the Eau de parfum for $160. The “Break My Soul” singer added a catchy offer for anyone seeking to purchase the scent. Each purchase would receive a “special gift” but only “while quantities last.” 

Before Bey’s venture into the fragrance world, she announced her debut in the haircare business, claiming she was inspired by her mom, Tina Knowles.
