Britney Spears and Sam Asghari Split Custody Of Their FIVE Dogs

Singer Britney Spears and actor Sam Asghari have reportedly reached an agreement on how to split custody of their five dogs.

On August 16, the "Special Ops: Lioness" actor filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. In court documents obtained by The Blast, the actor had listed July 28, 2023, as the date of separation, so it looks like the two have had time to come to terms with what they want out of the divorce.

Although previous reports indicated that the 41-year-old pop star didn't want to give up custody of any of her dogs, the 29-year-old actor was spotted walking their Doberman Porsha on Monday, and now fans know why.

In October 2021, only one month after they were engaged, Sam surprised Britney with a Doberman puppy, making it clear that the pet pooch was a gift for her. “Surprised my fiancé [sic] with our newest member to the Family. Porsha,” he wrote in the caption of an Instagram video at the time. “Her name is Porsha and she's meant to unconditionally love you,” he continued, adding that the dog would “be trained to protect you from any motherf***er that comes around you with bad intentions.”

Only a few months later, while the couple was on vacation in Maui, Britney fell in love with a blue-eyed Australian Shepherd puppy named Sawyer. “Geez …. Can you have two loves of your lives because he comes in second !!!! I’m introducing the new edition to my family … his name is Sawyer and he’s a white Australian shepherd with blue eyes !!!!!” she wrote in the caption of an Instagram post revealing her new family member.

“I found him in Maui like a dream and took him home with me immediately. It’s funny … he doesn’t talk back but it’s like he understands what I’m saying !!!” Britney wrote at the time. “I think he understands me, especially with those eyes … he makes my heart melt … he needs me and I like that !!!”

It seems that the “Toxic” singer was very attached to her dogs and didn’t want to give them up in the divorce. On Friday, a source told Daily Mail that Britney was concerned that Sam would try to take both Sawyer and Porsha in the split. “Regarding [Britney and Sam's shared] property, the most difficult part of dividing any assets will be their two dogs,” the source explained. “But Sam gave Porsha to Britney as a present and she was the one who wanted to adopt Sawyer when they were in Maui.” In addition to Sawyer and Porscha, the source noted that Britney also had a Maltese pup named Lulu and a cat named Wendy.

However, on Tuesday afternoon, TMZ revealed that the couple actually has five dogs and has already come to an agreement on who will get to keep what. As many expected when they saw the photographs of Sam walking Porsha, he will get to keep her full-time. He reportedly got custody of her from Britney last week.

However, Britney will be able to keep four of her other dogs: her Australian Shepherd, Sawyer, her Yorkie, Hannah, her Maltese, Lulu, and another small dog. The custody agreement made no mention of a cat. Fortunately, though, it looks like Britney might still be able to see Porsha if things remain civil between the former couple. Although Britney is staying in her Thousand Oaks estate, Sam has already found a new place to call home.

On Tuesday morning, Page Six reported that the actor had moved into a Los Angeles high-rise that is on the border of Beverly Hills and Century City. There are 283 units in the 40-story building which features amenities like a full bar, a lap pool, a private park, valet services, and even on-call doctors to provide services like Botox. Rent ranges from $10,000 to $65,000 each month. The actor has reportedly “been friendly with the residents” and “has been with his sister” a lot amid the divorce.

It looks like Britney has been trying out some new hobbies amid the divorce as well. On Tuesday afternoon, she shared a video of her cooking a meal for herself on Instagram.
