Britney Spears Reportedly In ‘Great Spirits’ Despite Sam Asghari Divorce

It looks like Britney Spears is in "good spirits" amid her divorce from Sam Asghari.

On August 16, the Iranian actor filed for divorce citing "irreconcilable differences" for the split, according to court documents obtained by The Blast. The couple had been photographed without their wedding rings in March, hinting that trouble had been brewing for a while.

Although most would have expected the pop star to be upset by the news, it sounds like she is taking things in stride.

The 41-year-old pop star has not discussed the divorce at all on social media. In fact, she seemed largely unbothered on Wednesday night when she shared a photo of her riding a horse on Instagram only hours after the news of the divorce broke.

“Buying a horse soon ? !!! So many options it’s kinda hard !!! A horse called Sophie and another called Roar ? ??? I can’t make up my mind ? !!! Should I join the camaraderie and put a pink cowboy hat on ? ???” she wrote in the caption. “Either way I think I found my sweet spot with Roar ? !!!”

On Friday, a source told People magazine that divorce is “never an easy thing to go through, but she’s remaining positive and focusing on the future." The insider divulged that Britney is still “in great spirits despite everything going on,” adding that the couple made the decision to “move on a few weeks ago.”

This is in line with what the court documents show. In the court filing obtained by The Blast, the “Special Ops: Lioness” actor dated July 28, 2023 as the date of separation. He did not file for divorce until August 16, although it looks like the couple might have been living separately since that time.

The source went on to say that Britney “is focused on her book release, has an upcoming writers’ camp and is getting songs from some big artists,” adding, “Ideally she would love to do a new record soon, and maybe a powerful song for the book’s release.”

ET was the first to report that Sam had filed for divorce amid allegations that she had cheated on him with a staff member who worked in the home. A source told the outlet that the pop star is “adamant she didn’t cheat,” adding, “The two haven’t got along for a while and it finally came to an end after a major blowup.”

“She has been denying any cheating allegations and going through a lot of emotions,” they continued. “She is hurt because the situation brings up old feelings for her. This is the last thing she needed, especially after her boys moved to Hawaii, being worried about the fires there, and so on.”

“Britney and Sam have had ups and downs throughout their relationship. They have a lot of love for each other, but they also argue a lot over fundamental issues,” they added. “Sometimes they feel as though each other’s needs aren’t being completely met. Recently, things took a bad turn and their arguments became more serious and real.”

“Their issues tend to get worse when they are away from each other and spending time apart. Britney has the tendency to feel like she isn’t being prioritized by Sam at times,” the source claimed. “Their arguments have led them to become unhappy at times in their relationship. They are also on different pages when it comes to their future as a couple, which has been a point of contention.”

On Thursday afternoon, the actor took to his Instagram Stories to confirm that the two were calling it quits. “After 6 years of love and commitment to each other my wife and I have decided to end our journey together,” he wrote. “We will hold onto the love and respect we have for each other and I wish her the best always. Sh*t happens. Asking for privacy seems [ridiculous] so I will just ask for everyone including media to be kind and thoughtful.”

In addition to allegations of cheating, there were also reports that Britney had physically assaulted Sam, leaving him with bruises and bite marks after an alleged fight.
