Tom Pelphrey Hadn't Watched GF Kaley Cuoco Act Until They Began Dating

Tom Pelphrey is opening up about his life before Kaley Cuoco.

Although the actor and Cuoco met at the premiere of Ozark in April 2022 and fell in love at first sight, Pelphrey recently disclosed that he was not too familiar with Cuoco's work as an actress then.

And while the pair have started a family, welcoming their daughter in early March, the ''Ozark'' actor appears to be still catching up on some of her blockbuster movies/series.

Notwithstanding that Cuoco is a top-tier actress with a slew of iconic roles underneath her belt, her works are still foreign to some people. Interestingly, her partner falls under the category of the few individuals who did not watch the American Sitcom ''The Big Bang Theory,'' where she acted the character of ''Penny.''

During a discussion with W Magazine about his role in his new series, ''Love & Death,'' he divulged his unawareness about Cuoco's role in the 2007 comedy series.

Pelphrey first admitted that he never watched the famous sitcom, saying, "Never. MWhen I first brought Kaley to New Jersey to meet my family and friends, my mom's partner – a Big Bang Theory fan – was there, and he kept calling her Penny."

The Banshee actor continued, "I had no clue what was happening. So I pulled Kaley aside, like, 'I'm sorry, I don't understand what's happening. Why does he keep calling you Penny?' She's like, 'That's my character in The Big Bang Theory.' I was completely unaware.''

Redeeming himself, he added,  ''I've watched a few episodes with her since, and obviously, she's fantastic." As for if he had watched any of Cuoco's other movies, he revealed, ''I hadn't seen Kaley in anything. Look, I live in a cave. Before I met Kaley, I lived in upstate New York, on a dirt road, in the middle of the woods, without much Wi-Fi. She's brought me into modern times.''

The Emmy winner, a Leo, opened up about similarities between him and his precious daughter Matilda. ''My birthdate is July 28. I'm a Leo. I am a Libra rising and a Scorpio moon. My daughter shares two of my three signs. She's not a Leo. She's an Aries sun, but she is Leo moon and Libra rising just like me.''

The doting father further noted that he sees himself a little in his daughter. ''She's got one dimple on her left cheek like I do. Other than that, though, I see Kaley,'' he stated.

The ''Outer Range'' actor added, ''Kaley says she sees me, but when Matilda's kind of confused or frustrated about something, she makes these faces, and I'm like, 'Oh my god, there's your mom.'''

For curious fans eager to know how the lovebirds officially began their relationship, the ''Flight Attendant'' actress publicly confirmed her girlfriend status with Pelphrey in May 2022 while simultaneously making their romance Instagram official. 

Her display of love came after her divorce from Karl Cook in September 2021 following three years of marriage. Buttressing how she and Pelphrey became an item after their meeting at the Ozark premiere, she revealed during a friendly chat, ''I heard his voice, and I turned around, and it was like my life was over, or just starting. It hit me. It was love at first sight.''

She added, ''We were immediately connected. I feel like I've known him my whole life, but I wasn't ready for him,'' before promptly noting, ''We're ready to build a life together.''

Fortunately for the couple, they announced they were expecting their first child via an Instagram post on October 11. On March 30, Pelphrey and Cuoco announced the arrival of their bundle of joy.

Aside from being a loving boyfriend to Cuoco, the talented actor seems to have been doing a fantastic job as a first-time dad. Appreciating his effort, the "Flight Attendant" actress paid a sweet tribute to honor him on Father's Day.

The ''Meet Cute'' actress posted a series of snaps featuring her handsome man and their four-month-old daughter, Matilda. The beautiful photos captured moments of the proud father cradling and entertaining their daughter with toys.

One of the many slides captured the touching moment Pelhrey carried baby Matilda as a newborn while he donned a customized T-shirt that read, ''Waltzing Matilda.''

Adding an affectionate caption to the post, the ''Cougar Club'' actress wrote, ''? Happy (first) Father's Day to Tildy's favorite person! @tommypelphrey, watching you become a dad has been the joy of my life! No one loves you more than that little lady (besides me ?). We ?you forever and appreciate all you do for our family!"
