There are new developments in the alleged stalking case following the arrest of Jason Alexander, who was once married to singer Britney Spears for 55 hours in 2004.
He allegedly stalked a woman at a gym, confronted her at the gym's pool while she was with her child, and even followed her home. The unidentified woman also claims that he called and texted her multiple times, even after she asked him to stop. Law enforcement arrested him earlier this month, and now, a judge is ordering him to have no communication with the woman he is accused of stalking.
Britney Spears' Ex-Husband Warned To Have No Contact With Woman He's Accused Of Following Home From Gym
In June, a woman claims that she had a confrontation with Jason Alexander in the parking lot of a Life Time Fitness gym facility in Franklin Tennessee. She said that she told him to leave her alone; however, he called and texted her multiple times after the incident. After she found him slowly driving by outside her house, she called law enforcement, who arrested him.
On Monday morning, TMZ was the first to report that a judge has ordered him to stay clear of the woman. He is not allowed to have any contact with her and he is not allowed to post about her on social media, as per the outlet. The hearing has been scheduled for August 2024, about a year from now, while Jason sorts through other legal troubles.
Britney's Protective Order Against Her Ex-Husband Ended Last Friday
As The Blast previously reported, Britney’s own protective order against him expired last Friday, although there is still a three-year restraining order against him. That restraining order was granted to the “Toxic” singer and her security guard, Richard Eubeler, after he crashed her wedding to Iranian actor Sam Asghari in June 2022.
While live streaming the event on his phone, Jason somehow many it past security guards and was able to make it all the way into Britney’s Thousand Oaks estate. Fortunately, he did not come into contact with the pop star and security guards were able to get him out of the home before police showed up and arrested him.
Jason Alexander Called Britney Spears' Wedding To Sam Asghari 'All For Show'
After the incident, Jason told the Daily Mail that he did not actually believe that Britney really wanted to get married, as her father controlled most of her personal and financial affairs during her conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021. “It’s all for show. A Hollywood script,” he said at the time. “I don’t think she looks happy. That whole thing is not real.”
“I couldn’t let her get married with the conversations we’ve had over the last two years,” he continued. “I wasn’t there to cause harm. I was just there to Speak to Britney and make sure she was okay, and this is what she wanted.” Jason had previously attended rallies from the Free Britney movement and said he talked to the pop star, but it’s unclear if these conversations actually took place.
Will Britney Spears Talk About Her Ex-Husband In Her New Memoir?
Britney’s new memoir, “The Woman In Me,” is ready to hit bookshelves this October. However, fans might get to hear more about her conservatorship before that date, as she is reportedly ready to open up about her experiences in a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
A source told The Sun that Oprah had already reached out to the pop star after her conservatorship ended in November 2021; however, a source told the outlet that Britney was “still coming to terms with independent life and mentally processing her freedom.” They noted that, in 2023, Britney is in a “different place now” and her opinion might have changed.
“The [interview] proposal remains complicated for Britney who continues to face challenges speaking to strangers at length about intimate aspects of her life,” the insider divulged. “The trauma didn’t go away overnight just because the conservatorship ended. Some days can be extremely testing and conversations can trigger her to behave unusually or even erratically.”
“Certainly, putting a TV lens on her could be problematic and it means that a proper news-style interview is out of the question,” they continued, adding, “However, a more feature-style interview, allowing her and the team to have control is an option. A move like that, to work with a production company or someone like Oprah, would be her strongest play, but the reality is managing Britney’s mental well-being and health in the process.”
Now that she is free of her conservatorship, they noted that if Britney does decide to talk on camera, it will be her decision. Britney Spears’ highly anticipated memoir, “The Woman In Me,” will hit be released on October 24, 2023.
