Billie Eilish took to the Lollapalooza 2023 stage on Thursday to perform “What Was I Made For?” from the "Barbie" film soundtrack for the first time, sporting a bit of Chicago on her and some red in her hair. She wore a black Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls jersey and basketball shorts, taking the stage in Chicago's Grant Park as the headliner during the first night of Lollapalooza.

Welcomed on stage by Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, who called Chicago the best city in the world, Eilish seemed to soak it in as she began her performance. This was the first time that she performed the hit ballad from the “Barbie” movie live, sitting on the stage floor as she looked at the audience and smiled, looking back at the video’s scenes playing on the background screens.

Eilish headlined the first day of Lollapalooza, and there are more than 170 artists taking the nine stages at Lollapalooza this year, from Kendrick Lamar to Lana Del Rey and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Hopefully this time, Lana Del Ray won’t be late. Meanwhile, when it comes to Eilish, fans are beyond smitten, with good reason!

Eilish also took social media by storm by posting a picture of new hair – red roots on black hair, matching the near punk rock looks she earlier had, of neon green roots with her raven locks.

The 21-year-old “Bad Guy” singer captioned the image, “Remember me?”, recreating an earlier image of her when she debuted the green hair!

The singer posed with her head tilted slightly towards the camera to show the new red roots coupled with the black bangs, with the rest of her hair done in two messy buns. In the snap, fans could spot her black, white, and red Chicago Bulls NBA jersey with bold red piping that perfectly matched her red hair. She paired her edgy masculine look with layers of silver chains and a pair of sunglasses with orange-red lenses.

Fans who were able to attend Lollapalooza 2023 came back with jitters, having witnessed Eilish’s stunning vocals, with many declaring that “What Was I Made For” is the anthem this year.

Her song “Bad Guy” also just got diamond certified, and Eilish had a sweet reaction to it as she wrote, “bad guy went diamond………………………. HUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH?????????? forever and ever grateful for this silly little song man. love you guys so much its stupid @finneas”

She was also super excited about the “Barbie” song, writing, “We made this song for Barbie and it means the absolute worrrrllld to me. This movie is gonna change ur lives and hopefully this song will too. Get ready to sob.” The “Barbie” soundtrack, meanwhile, took a whole village to make, produced by Mark Ronson and featuring the likes of Ava Max, Dominic Fike, Gayke, Haim, the Kid Laroi, and Lizzo. And of course, Ryan Gosling with his magic voice.

For now, though, it's Eilish who fans cannot get enough of!
