Award-winning singer and actress Lady Gaga has penned another heartfelt tribute to her late friend, mentor, and music collaborator, Tony Bennett.                                           

Lady Gaga took to her Instagram page to share a sweet message, celebrating Bennett what would have been his 97th birthday. 

Bennett passed away on July 21st following an Alzheimer's diagnosis. The celebrated singer was known for his unique voice and timeless hit music.

Singer Lady Gaga has chosen to celebrate her late friend Bennett's posthumous birthday with a heartwarming message, emphasizing how much she misses him.

On her Instagram page, the "Bad Romance" singer noted that she would be celebrating Bennett more than once a year.

"Happy Birthday Tony. August 3rd is Tony Bennett Day," Lady Gaga began.

"A day for smiling. But I'll be celebrating you a lot more than once a year. I'll celebrate you every time I'm on stage singing jazz music, every time I'm with your family, every time I walk down the streets of New York I'll look around and remember all you did for this city and the whole world."

Lady Gaga and Bennett were frequent music collaborators who went to work on two Grammy award-winning albums; "Cheek to Cheek" in 2014 and "Love for Sale" in 2021.

Following her emotional tribute to the late legend, Lady Gaga's fans took to the comment section of her post to join her in wishing Bennett a happy birthday.

"I send you a big hug, Tony will always be with you, taking care of you and guiding you! Now you have an angel watching over you from heaven!! I love you thank you Lady Gaga for being my Tony," one fan wrote.

"He will always be with all of us thanks to his and your music, and thanks to the human heritage he left us. Happy birthday, Tony," another fan penned.

A third fan noted, "I know you'll miss this sweet soul but, remember all the positive things you and Tony did. Remember "Straight Ahead" and don't look back. I hope you are doing well. Love U Angel."

Another fan wished Bennett a happy birthday while pointing out her lovely Lady Gaga looked in her photo, which she took in New York City. 

"Always celebrating the magic of music and how it brings people together. Tony will sing on forever. Looking dazzling in NYC," they wrote.

After the "New York State of Mind" crooner's shocking death, Lady Gaga took to her social media to share how much she missed her mentor. The Oscar winner noticeably took a few days before sharing her grief online.

In a lengthy and heartbreaking post, Lady Gaga wrote about their precious moments together and how much Bennett influenced her music and guided her in her career as an artist.

"I will miss my friend forever. I will miss singing with him, recording with him, talking with him, being on stage together. With Tony, I got to live my life in a time warp. Tony & I had this magical power. We transported ourselves to another era, modernized the music together, & gave it all new life as a singing duo," Lady Gaga penned.

She continued, "Our relationship was very real. Sure he taught me about music, about showbiz life, but he also showed me how to keep my spirits high and my head screwed on straight."

In her heartfelt message, the "Born This Way" singer wrote about her final moments with Bennett and how she had been mourning his loss.

She said, "I've been grieving the loss of Tony for a long time. We had a very long and powerful goodbye. Though there were 5 decades between us, he was my friend. My real true friend."

Lady Gaga noted that their age difference was never a problem and instead only strengthened their friendship, as they were both able to learn from each other in unique ways.

"Our age difference didn't matter-- in fact, it gave us each something neither of us had with most people. We were from two different stages in life entirely--inspired," she wrote.

Although Bennett battled with Alzheimer's in his final days, the icon's life was always filled with music and joy. A statement from the late singer's rep revealed that he died performing his first ever number-one hit song, "Because of You," at his piano.
