The actor is no stranger to challenges, having faced his fair share of obstacles, with the most recent being his near-fatal accident with a snow plow at the beginning of the year. However, the "Neo Ned" star is not letting that stop him as he takes on a daring new challenge that is as awe-inspiring as any of his on-screen feats.

The "Avenger" star, who suffered over 30 broken bones and a punctured lung from the incident, has been updating his fans on his recovery through social media. He continues to show his resilience and determination with video uploads of light jogging, weight lifting sessions, and even appearing in public without any support.

In his latest update, the father-of-one shared a picture of a half-dome mountain surrounded by greenery. A long, curving road lined with tall pine trees, sand, and stones on the side could be seen in the snap.

Across the image, the "Dahmer" actor wrote, "I'm working in strength to climb her again." The 52-year-old's recovery journey has been remarkable and sometimes humorous, judging by the picture he shared last month about his activities.

In a lighthearted tone, the "S.W.A.T." star had previously acknowledged his newfound habit of tracking steps, when he playfully wrote, "I guess I'm that guy now that clocks his Damn STEPS????"

Renner proudly displayed his smart wristwatch, revealing the impressive stats of his day's movements. The device indicated that he had taken "8,566" steps, covering a total distance of "4.23 miles" and "28" flight cape.

"The Hurt Locker" actor delighted his fans by sharing a short clip of himself trying his hand at swinging a golf club. Wearing a stylish Navy blue floral print T-shirt, matching shorts, and a baseball hat, the Academy Award nominee completed his look with white tennis shoes.

The heartwarming caption, "Ava's lesson Daddy's therapy," hinted that he was enjoying the moment with his daughter, whom he shares with his ex-wife Sonni Pacheco.

Before those updates, the "Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol" star showed how serious he was with healing by sharing a post of himself engaged in a series of warm-up exercises. In the caption, he candidly revealed his goals writing:

"UPDATE: I've decided to push through the pain of progress (this damn shattered tibia) and take the new parts for a tiny test drive. The body is miraculous…Even though I feel like the Tin Man, needing oil for all my new joints (hips, knees, ankles, tibia, etc). Encouraged after this warm-up to press on (don't tell my PT)."

Apart from his loyal fan base and family, the "Black Widow" star was one of the people who were shocked at the news of his life-threatening incident. The 38-year-old's "distraught" feeling gradually turned to ease when she and other Marvel Cinematic Universe colleagues were informed about his improved health.

The five-time Golden Globe Awards winner shared her thoughts, stating, "On the Avengers text chain, we're like, 'OK, you beat us all. That's it. You won.' That's like real superhero stuff. It's unbelievable."

However, the conversation moved away from text when the "Girl with a Pearl Earring" actress reunited with Renner. Recalling the moment, Johansson enthusiastically noted:

"I was honestly so f**king happy to see him. I didn't know if I was ever going to see him again. To not only see him again but to see him thriving and in such an amazing space, mentally."

She also mentioned her happiness at seeing "The Mayor of Kingstown" star, describing him as a "very soulful person" and "full of life and light. The BAFTA Award winner further explained that Renner's soulfulness shone in his work and that they "laughed a lot" at the heartfelt reunion.

Hailee Steinfeld, another co-star, shared her excitement at seeing the "Fish in a Barrel" star back on his feet and expressed her gratitude upon hearing about the "truly miraculous recovery."

Reflecting on it, she stated, "I mean, I don't know if you guys know this man, but he is the most inspiring, and not that I already didn't feel that way about him — I feel that way times a million. He's amazing."
