The news of the snow-related accident nearly killing Jeremy Renner broke the heart of his Marvel co-star Scarlett Johansson.

The actress has taken her fans through the emotions she felt after she found out about the near-fatal crash during a recent interview. The January 1 incident saw Renner getting hit, run over, and stuck under a heavyweight snow plow while trying to save his nephew, trapped in a snowdrift. Since then, the actor has been detailing updates on his recovery process via social media posts.

Scarlett Johansson's Feelings Were Disrupted By News Of Jeremy Renner's Accident

Scarlett has opened up about how the news of Renner's accident and recent reunion affected her feelings. The "Black Widow" star divulged that she was "distraught" when she woke up and learned about the accident, which left the "Hawkeye" star with over 30 broken bones.

However, her feelings gradually eased when she and their other colleagues from the Marvel Cinematic Universe were told of their friend's improved prognosis. Speaking on the events, the "Manny & Lo" star told Variety:

"On the Avengers text chain, we're like, 'OK, you beat us all. That's it. You won.' That's like real superhero stuff. It's unbelievable."

The conversation soon moved from the text, which includes Renner, Johansson, and the four other members of the original six Avengers — Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr., and Chris Hemsworth — to real life when the actress reunited with the "The Mayor of Kingstown" star.

"I was honestly so f**king happy to see him. I didn't know if I was ever going to see him again. To not only see him again but to see him thriving and in such an amazing space, mentally," the "A Love Song for Bobby Long" actress recounted.

She expressed that she was "just so happy" to see the dad-of-one, whom she described as "a very spiritual" and a "very soulful person," "full of life and light. The "Set It All Free" singer further explained that his soulfulness came through in Renner's work, adding that they "laughed a lot" during the reunion. 

With this update from Johansson, fans can finally confirm Jimmy Kimmel's statement when Renner joined him for an episode of his late-night eponymous show last month.

Per The Blast, the comedian had quipped, "Now, if there was any question as to who the toughest Avenger was, that's settled now, right? Forget Hemsworth; forget these guys; it's you; you're the guy."

A clip of the interaction had been shared online, prompting a few agreeable sentiments, including this one from a netizen that read, "He's truly my hero and inspiration for life. Jeremy is one true miracle, and I'm so glad to see him up and walking."

A second fan claimed that the award-winning actor  was "such a bright light!" and a third called him a "walking miracle."

Another co-star who was ecstatic to see Renner back on his feet was Hailee Steinfeld, who expressed that she was "grateful" to hear about the "Fish in a Barrel" star making a "truly miraculous recovery."

The 26-year-old brunette added that the relationship she shared with the Academy Awards nominee was just as great as it appeared on their show, "Hawkeye." In the words of the "True Grit" actress:

"I mean, I go back to thinking about how excited I was just to meet him, and then I realized very quickly — I can't believe I'm going to admit this, but much like Kate Bishop is to Clint, I am that way with Jeremy."

She later reflected on Renner's speedy and unexpected recovery, stating, "I mean, I don't know if you guys know this man, but he is the most inspiring, and not that I already didn't feel that way about him — I feel that way times a million. He's amazing."

The accolade from the "Between Two Ferns: The Movie" actress came amid the "Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation" star praising his daughter, Ava Berlin, 's investment in his continued recovery.

In one of his most recent updates, Renner had shared a photo of a note that the ten-year-old scribbled, featuring the words, "Hi Beautiful," along with a smiley face and heart. The note attached to a mirror was accompanied by a text overlay that revealed, "My daughter inspires Me… What inspires you ??"
