Selena Gomez and her former best friend Francia Raisa, who was also her kidney donor in 2017, seem to have reconciled months after they were believed to be at odds after the singer made a shocking claim about her friends in Hollywood.
Recently, the "Come & Get It" songstress marked Raisa's 35th birthday with a public declaration of love, implying the duo may have settled their differences after all, but fans are not buying it totally.
Selena Gomez Celebrates Francia Raisa's Birthday With A Heartwarming Gesture
Gomez honored Raisa with three lovely pictures showcasing their friendship on Instagram captioned, "Happiest of birthdays to this special human being. No matter where life takes us, I love you. ❤️ @franciaraisa.”
The first photo showed the former friends hanging out in a vehicle and holding wine glasses with the wind tossing their hair as they looked affectionately at each other. The Hollywood stars were casually dressed — Gomez wore a striped off-white ensemble while Raisa rocked a white dress.
In the following slide, the former BFFs were all dressed up. Gomez and Raisa struck side poses for the photo op with the younger celeb, dressed in a golden tube dress and hugging her ex pal from behind. In contrast, the older star wore a white gown embellished with butterfly patterns.
In the final slide, the "Barney & Friends" alum was seen posing in a chic white mini dress with one arm around her former bestie, who donned a sexy long black dress featuring cutouts exposing her assets.
Despite talk about the pair's differences, the post gained over five million likes, with several comments supporting Gomez while others spoke up for Raisa. One of the comments read, "You better, she saved your life," similar to another fan who believed the "Good for You" singer celebrated her ex-friend because she "started to feel guilty."
A third comment followed: "Dam, she's not even following her, she's posting this for us 😂." Meanwhile, in support of Gomez, a follower lauded, "Shutting down those drama allegations with EASE.👏🏼." Another penned, "Selena said "yall can leave me alone about her now" 🤣♥️" followed by one more who declared, "Now y'all can shut up about Selena not posting about her. y'all happy?"
Subsequently, a fourth supporter noted that the celebrant reposted everyone's birthday wishes on her Instagram Story besides Gomez's tribute.
A fourth admirer also ranted about haters commenting like they knew details of the drama before a fellow fan gushed, "Selena, it's attitudes like these that make me fall in love with you more every day; your kindness inspires me, and I'm proud to be your fan. ❤️❤️❤️❤️.”
One more devotee then praised Gomez for always being "thankful" for everything she has, which they believed was the "most loveable part" of the musician.
As fans of the 31-year-old pop star kept showing approval for the birthday tribute, Raisa's followers would be quick to recall when she disregarded the celebrant back in November 2022.
Gomez was promoting her documentary "My Mind & Me" at the time and had an interview with Rolling Stone magazine where she appeared to have dishonored her friendship with Raisa.
"I never fit in with a cool group of girls that were celebrities," she said about friendship in Hollywood. "My only friend in the industry really is Taylor [Swift], so I remember feeling like I didn't belong." The statement, posted online, did not go unnoticed by the "Bring It On" star as she retweeted it with the remark "interesting." However, she later deleted it but immediately unfollowed Gomez.
Fans Of The '13 Reasons Why' Producer Bullied Her Former BFF
A few months after Gomez indirectly slammed her and Raisa's friendship, the "How I Met Your Father" star opened up about their broken relationship in an interview.
This prompted her to face extreme online bullying from the 'Selenators,' particularly for avoiding questions about the "Hands to Myself" singer in the interview. During the discussion, she was asked about a possible reconciliation between herself and Gomez on social media, but she chose not to comment.
While speaking with TMZ, the 35-year-old claimed the bullying affected her mental health and shared one of the distressing messages. It read, "I hope someone goes up your p—y and rips out your other kidney, you f—ing whore."
