NeNe Leakes' Son Bryson Arrested For Possesion Of Fentanyl While Trying To Impersonate Younger Brother Brentt

The legendary "Real Housewives of Atlanta" alum NeNe Leakes is dealing with some family drama involving her eldest son Bryson Bryant.

Earlier this month, the cops found drugs on Bryant, prompting him to be apprehended and slammed with a drug possession charge. 

Although he was later released, he was detained again after pretending to be his younger half-brother, Brentt Leakes, whom NeNe had with the late Gregg Leakes.

According to court documents, the TV icon's son was taken into custody for felony possession of Fentanyl, a Schedule II-controlled substance. The crime was said to have happened around 1 a.m. in Lawrenceville, Georgia. In addition, the accused was hit with a misdemeanor charge, particularly for "loitering/prowling."

According to the police statement, Bryant was at the mentioned address, "evading police and claiming he knew the people that lived at the residence, which was false."

During questioning, he was asked for his name, which he lied about by telling the police that he was Brentt, his younger brother. Due to that, the first several reports in the case have the 24-year-old's name on it. Meanwhile, jail records showed that Bryant was taken into the Gwinnett County Jail at around 2:36 a.m., though the booking sheet had him recorded under Brentt's name.

The 33-year-old also gave officers a false address during booking by naming a home his mother sold years ago. Bail was set at $5,900, and Bryant was released at 12:20 p.m. Unluckily for the accused, he was re-arrested and is now in prison with more charges added to his offenses. Based on newly filed documents obtained by Radar Online, listing the defendant as "Bryson Rashad Bryant" with a date of birth of "12/26/1989," the prosecutors included a charge of "giving a false name, address or birthdate to a law enforcement officer."  

Bryant is no newbie when it concerns breaking the law, as he was also accused of violating probation in another case. He will appear in court later this month. This marks the second family drama NeNe would experience involving her sons.

A few months ago, Brentt tried to go viral on TikTok with a message implying he may be gay while hopping on a challenge involving him tossing a crumpled paper into a bin. The video with the caption "If I Miss, I'm Gay" caused speculations from fans about the entrepreneur's sexuality.

As a result, his famous mom also had a few things to say about the clip, even though she initially had no idea about it.

NeNe cleared the air on "The Breakfast Club" morning show, maintaining her son was not gay but only "did some popular TikTok trend. She added that while he did not "come out," she was totally fine if he was gay, provided that he was happy.

The OG "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star has had her personal life, especially matters concerning her son make headlines. Bryant's run-in with the law comes months after her secondborn suffered a heart attack and stroke last year. He was rushed to the hospital at the time and had to be hospitalized for months.

The "Glee" actress updated fans about the condition, announcing, "Brentt had congestive heart failure and a stroke. He's really young for something like that to happen to him." NeNe did not want to go into details about what happened, how she found out, or his state then. Eventually, her son improved, and she documented every step he made toward full recovery.

NeNe could not get over her son's miraculous recovery from a stroke and heart attack last year as two months later, she reflected on his health journey in a series of Instagram Stories posts.

One of the posts was captioned, "My son [sic] life changed," and she added the date of the transformation — "Sept 26."

In a second video update, the reality star's son was filmed looking healthy and walking towards her in the hospital's hallway with people clapping in the background.

An ensuing post featured Brentt strolling towards the hospital's lift without help, which NeNe noted with excitement while crediting God for the miracle.  One more Story post confirmed her son was "walking and talking" before she declared "Nothing but God" across another photo showing her looking down at an unconscious Brentt lying on a hospital bed with wires connected to him.
